Nope. GSM arena thinks otherwise:

You are right about the developer base. My phone works great after I rooted it though I have to deal with many forced restarts.

Since it has booted up fine, you need not worry. I can suggest you to reboot it once again and see if it comes up fine without any errors.
I tried 3-4 times and it is booting properly. No problems. So I think issue has gone.

I just put in noozxoide on my ion, it was recommended with the miui v5 rom.
It allows you to tweak all wired and wireless audio output on the phone, and man does it make a difference!!
If you're unhappy with the quality of sound from your headset, or phone speaker, do give it a try.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I dropped my Nexus 4 today during an aircraft spotting session, resulting in a cracked screen.

I took it to the LG service center on Double Road. They replaced the screen in 20 minutes and the phone is back to normal. The damage to my pocket was 4.7 K.

The height of the drop ?
4.5K is cheap.

Impossible. Who will buy the G2 then ?
I highly doubt the credibility of this source. LG is not foolish to shoot itself in the foot.
On the contrary if the device gets launched in India, I will lap it up immediately.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Saw one offer in Indiatimes. 26,985 for Xperia ZR + an offer = Rs 25,366 for Xperia ZR. Guess it's a fair price since all other sites are quoting price around 27K. Anybody having any experience buying from Indiatimes?

Dont know about the pricing. Flipkart/Amazon India still price it at about ~27.5K. But the phone in itself is amazing for its price. Fast, a very nice/decent display, and now with 4.2.2. With Stamina Mode and Tasker (all the time), I have got a battery life of 2.5 days with 3G ! (Some amount of calls and mail sync-up). With regular calls, browsing, FB and official mail responses it easily lasts 1.5 days. I was very surprised with the same. Definitely worth a buy.

Downgraded from Galaxy Note I to iPhone 4 few months back. The initial excitement of owning an iPhone has gradually died down and now I find it too bare bone in comparison to my galaxy note. It doesn't do even half of what an Android can do. The 3.2MP camera on my 5 year old Sony Ericsson P1i is way better than the 5MP unit on the iphone 4. The latest version of iOS has only made things worse. I swear that I'll never buy an iPhone again.

Now looking to switch to a high end android phone. Xperia Z1 and htc One Max are on my radar. Which one of the two would you guys suggest. Pricing is not a factor.

The mistake you made was going from Note 1 to iPhone 4. In this day and age, the minimum you would want to have is iPhone 4s. The 4 is now 3 generations older which is a lifetime in mobile device parallance.

From a platform about 20 meters high. The edge of the phone bit some railings on the way down and the fall was cushioned by some grass. It resulted in spider web-like cracks radiating throughout the screen and the touch was also gone.

They replaced the entire screen at the Service Center.

G2 is not selling anyways. LG itself "hopes" that G2 will sell just 10 M units over its "lifetime". In comparison, Galaxy S3 shipped 20 M units just in 100 days.

Though Google does not release Nexus shipment data, I thnk it would much better than LG counterparts.

FK has an offer "Get Extra 15% Cashback on purchases above Rs. 10,000 on Standard Chartered Cards."

So if you can order from FK your effective landed cost would be ₹23374/-. Which is an amazing deal. Also FK is offering a few freebies along with this one.

Free eBooks worth Rs. 1000/- on download of Flipkart eBooks App
FREEBIE: Plantronics ML2 Bluetooth Headset free with Mobile Priced at Rs. 958 (source : FK)
FREEBIE: Eveready UM 22 Power Bank for Smartphones free with Mobile Price at Rs. 1164 (source : FK)

I would say you look around for a Standard Chartered Card if you dont have one and get it from FK.

Regards,

I really doubt this. So far the trend has been to launch nexus devices in India 6/8 months late compared to the US. You can check that with Nexus 4, the previous generation Nexus 7 etc. Even the Nexus 7 2013 is yet to be launched in India whereas it was launched in the US in June.

Currently, Flipkart is having Diwali sale. So in addition to this Standard Chartered offer, it has its own discounts on various products.
