Main ones being : - Wifi Vs 3G selection based on location. (I set toggle variables for home / work etc). - Based on time and location, I set drive modes and use this variable to set blue tooth and car modes. Helps sync my phone to the car's BT. (I have not yet used any NFC tags in the car to toggle car mode). - Turning on silence modes based on office location. (Was toying with the idea of turning on silence modes based on calendar entry, but gave it up) - Periodic toggling of Wifi/3G (based on location) to save power. I chose 5 minutes in every 30 minutes to sync up data for all apps - Apps based data on/off. In other words turning on data when you detect an app requiring data is turned on else turn data off - Last but not least Automatic over rides over data, location, power and drive mode controls It sure has been fun coding it up ! The way to do it is: - Choose profile by time (From : / To: ) - Add a task which says kill app : whatsapp - Then you add an exit task (when you are NOT between 10:30 to 1900). And that is load app Whatsapp. Hope that helps. Quote:

What is mini tasker? Is it the same tasker? (Sorry not aware about that). What I meant is a single profile to be set from 10AM to 7PM which triggers an app kill and whose exit loads the app. Hope that helps. Here is a screen shot. ![]()

Another solution is, turn on auto-back-up. It would write your profiles to the auto back up folder inside tasker. Last edited by ampere : 16th October 2013 at 07:36.

![]() The biggest catch for this app is that the location is purely based on cell towers and hence no battery drainer. You can also control application kill/ start depending on various conditions. ![]() Last edited by bhp_maniac : 16th October 2013 at 09:08.

Thanks to you I started with Llama. But what I could not get it to do was a set a periodic toggle of data (Maybe I did not know how to do it then. Dont know if its possible). Hence I shifted out. Else its a neat app. |

I struggled with the 'cell near' profile to toggle WiFi and 3G. If you could share screenshots of that profile, it would be very helpful! As an interim measure, I had set a task to toggle WiFi/3G with a succour on my home screen. Also, I would be curious to see the profiles of setting car mode on/off and the app based data on/off. Thanks a lot!

![]() Let me try to summarize: - Use the "cell near" profile to toggle sets of variables (say home and work). In other words you have two cell near profiles which set/unset work/home variable on entry/exit - For the next some times keep sampling these cell near value till you get the full set for home and work. There can be many cells that would be in your vicinity. - Rest of the profiles you can parse based on these variables rather than cell near profile - Write a tasks for data on and data off. So if home==1, turn on Wifi else turn on 3G. Same for turn-off - Then create a profile which turn runs the task "data on" when selected apps are activated. Quote:
For mornings When Time is 6 to 8 AM and days are Mon-Friday and Neither Home nor work = 1, I set a variable called drive mode. On this variable perform all car mode related items. Eg set phone in car mode, turn on bluetooth etc. Similarly for evening 3-6PM time and rest of the conditions as above. I also use an over ride task that toggles the drive mode. So that in case you reach some place in these times and dont want the drive mode ! For benefit of all, its not at all difficult, once you get the hang of it. You need to spend some initial time.
