I read somewhere that the HTC One had build quality issues?

Just got my self an Xperia Z and I'm very happy with it.
It does heat up, but not that much, my S2 used to get Much hotter at times

There was also widely reported that samsung paid students and online bloggers including some reviewers to spread misinformation about competition, chiefly HTC and Sony. They are currently being investigated.

The only authentic online resource in my view is anandtech and they haven't mentioned anything like that.

I would doubt that news. A company who has been making robust, sturdy handsets over years won't spoil their game for nothing. They are spending money researching how to package the electronics, unlike Samsung who just wrap up their nice piece of hardware in plastic.

Plan to photograph Note-II and One X in macro mode side by side, to reveal differences in build quality (This is for my blogger friend) Unfortunately, not all differences can be shown with photos, you have to hold the phone in your hands and feel some of them.

Congrats on the Z, I heard that the display is not bright enough?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-22166606 BBC said that as well.

HTC one's camera reviews have been JUICY

Quite possible for Samsung to do stuff like that.
The screen is bright enough. Not done rigorous out door testing yet.
Definitely a step up from my Nokia Lumia 710 and my S2.
Build quality is fantastic
Screen is good with fantastic resolution and color representation.
Call quality is exceptional. My S2 had bad call quality. Don't have to get out of my house to make a call now.

Anyone here heard or seen this?
Since no one suggested anything the last time, I am posting this again. The only deal breaker in case of One X+ is the SIM card detection problem reported by few. In all other cases, I feel One X+ is better than S3.

Guys, anything?

^^ Ajay, my sister is using the One X+ since few months now and she has no complaint whatsoever on the SIM card detection problem. She is a loyal and happy HTC customer (upgraded from the Desire )

And yes IMHO it is definitely better than S3 !

Samsung had known quality control issues.
I'd say go with the HTC.
And from the software front HTC's sense is far superior to Samsung's touchwiz

I went in for a Sony because I wanted SD card support

My experience with S2 was just the same. Call quality sucked at both ends if one phone used to be an S2. From the person who's talking over S2, you will hear not only his voice but wind turbulence and ambient noise sometimes even amplified more than the voice of the person!

That and signal strength.
I could not make calls from my room at home. Intact most phones can't.
The only ones that have worked are Blackberrys, Sonys, HTCs and Motorola's.

my HTC chacha was call-dropper extraordinaire on 3G to the point of being unusable.

BB 9320 has been a superstar in this regard. I keep it ONLY on 3G

This is one aspect where I truly don't trust the likes of micromax or xolo - if their signal management or speaker quality isnt good enough, then that would be a complete no no for business users like me.

Try out an Xperia Z.
No dropped calls, where most others fail and class call quality.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Guys, which battery bank do you recommend for the Nexus 4 ?

Would want the bank to be as sleek but as powerful as possible.

If I think correctly Battery bank is the external anytime available backup power for your phone. There are a lot of Chinese makes on Aliexpress and DX. However, a friend has tried this one and he's not complaining

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Got an OTA update yesterday for Galaxy Note 2 , The update was to basically provide fix for unlock issue but as usual will have many fixes done in past 4 months ( after JB release).

Important change noticed battery life has improved considerably.

Also some people find Note 2 display over saturated this can be changed by
Settings->Display ->Screen Mode and then select natural instead of Standard which is default setting.
