After uninstalling Waze, delete the 'Waze' folder in sdcard. Reboot your mobile and install Waze again. It should work.

Re: Waze - Free satellite navigation for your smartphone

Thanks @Automaton & @IronH4WK

Cant find www.team-bhp.com to add to my list. But it does say the group exists. Could be because of different city . However for Bangalore, I do see a TeamBhp group that was created 2yrs ago by Lateshnair, got 135 members (now including me)

Re: Waze - Free satellite navigation for your smartphone

Tried the new version of Waze (after google take over)?

They now have a search bar right on the home screen when you start up Waze. You dont have to go into Navigation and type into search bar.

But what impressed me was that Waze can now calculate long distance address. Earlier there was a 25mile limit.

What I didnt like is the Bing search is gone. Thats Google for you.
Google map also benefits from the Waze feeds to display traffic speeds and jams.

Hope they dont kill Waze. The map editor of Waze is the best and simplest I've seen so far.

Re: Waze - Free satellite navigation for your smartphone

Waze is now purchased by Google, so I would only be a matter of time when Waze gets stopped.

I have switched to Google Maps, and it works like butter, and is naturally much more accurate. It might not have a few social frills of Waze yet, but is much more reliable on road.

Waze has a profitable business model and they sell real time traffic data. Google uses the data from Waze for their maps.

I doubt google will want to lose the golden Goose.

The routes shown by Waze are much usable. Google sometimes sends me thru narrow lanes which are not driveable.

Re: Waze - Free satellite navigation for your smartphone

Something is happening in Waze. Recently I saw a lot of known roads in Bangalore change to confirm status. The dotted lines which you munch while driving for points. Which is like when a road is mapped newly and Waze confirms the route based on usage.

Is it Google maps overlaying Waze maps?
I know Google has survey companies that chart out the maps. Hope it is for the good.

For now earning points while driving

Re: Waze - Free satellite navigation for your smartphone

I love this application. Easily of the best for a cell phone GPS.

However, is there something wrong with Waze? I am completely unable to use it for the past couple of weeks. I removed and installed again but of no use. The App simply does not work.

BTW my phone is a Nokia N9 (and officially there is no app for it).

Is everyone else able to use it?

I use an Android phone. The newer updates look good and the GPS locking is pretty much instant, guess they have added features to remember the last known location info.

After Google take over there seem to have been some changes, some to my liking and some dislike. They did something to the maps. Some of my earlier edits are overwritten.

Re: Waze - Free satellite navigation for your smartphone

I was suggesting an idea on Waze's FB page and they gave me this URL
waze.uservoice.com

One can post new ideas and also vote for existing ones for them to notice and implement in future releases. Pretty cool!

Works well as good as on Android. The UI is follows the "windows" look and feel and pretty good. The phone does get quite hot though - more than the regular navigation apps - I run it on Lumia 520.
