are you logged in when using Waze or are you Anonymous? i think to be able to record your activities, you need to be logged in as a Waze user.

Re: Waze - Free satellite navigation for your smartphone

Don't worry about :

1. Drive not being updated on dashboard
2. Routing fails sometimes

Waze is growing more than anticipated and infrastructure is playing catch up. Drive would shop up in 2 - 3 weeks, raw data is captured but there is huge backlog on server that processes it and updates dashboard + analyzes it.

When routing server is overloaded, routing might fail. Unfortunately all one can do is to try again.

Data usage is fairly minimal after you have used it once (and it has map on cache). It works fine on 2G networks.

Ya. I found the group and yes there is only 1 group on Waze for BHPians. No regional group.

Re: Waze - Free satellite navigation for your smartphone

Rather than splitting the TBHP group region-wise, I'd rather go with the regional groups for the City itself - example Chennai Wazers and Bangalore Wazers. That way I can configure my options to pop-up reports from my main group (city group, for traffic updates), and see Wazers belonging to all the groups I follow (incl TBHP).

Re: Waze - Free satellite navigation for your smartphone

"Waze" is indeed cool and I want to use it more and more; however, it takes a long and sometimes very long time to lock to GPS. Someone mentioned using "QuickGPS" to resolve this issue; however, I could not find this app in android market.

Anyone facing similar issues?

Re: Waze - Free satellite navigation for your smartphone

Keep getting disconnected - have been up uploading the logs on the error messages. off late the disconnections are one too many.

Maybe the load on their servers is extremely high, even driving & creating new roads etc are not getting updated. Anyone else out there facing similar issues?

best regards

Quick GPS is part of the HTC Sense. i'm not sure if this is available separately. however, Android powered phones should have something similar to update the GPS database.
