Blackberry Pearl

@Shaju
Hi!
I know you are a lover of BB Pearl. I want your opinion on 8110 and 8120 and your rating of both the phones. I am bored of my HTC Touch Dual and BB Bold or BB 8900 or Storm are beyond my present budget. Airtel has 299 plan now and I wish to give it a try!

As far as my limited knowledge is concerned, 8120 works on wi-fi which is the only extra feature from the other. And I think 8120 is the only wi-fi enabled phone (send and receive emails on a wi-fi modem, hotspot areas etc.) in the Pearl series. Experts please correct me if I am wrong.

If you are not particular about a full swing QWERTY keyboard, Pearl series will give you great satisfaction. Its sleek, sexy, feature filled, very light weight and appealing. I still feel my Pearl 8120 as brand new each day. I considered upgrading to BOLD and STORM when they were launched, but the size difference stopped me. If you are moving from HTC Touch Dual (my cousine uses same) to a Pearl, its like shifting from Desktop to a Laptop.

Actually the 8220 Pearl Flip also has wi-fi! The 8110 has only GPS and the 8100 has neither.

Whats your budget like, you might be tempted for a grey market Curve 8300 or 8310.

Blackberry Pearl

Thanks Shaju
8120 has Wi-Fi and no GPS
8110 has GPS and no Wi-Fi

BlackBerry - BlackBerry | Wireless Handheld Devices, Software & Services from Research In Motion (RIM)

If you check compare both in the above link, you'll find that
8120 supports only 4 Email Integrations, where as
8110 supports 6 Email Integrations, rest all are same for both!

@quickdraw

My budget is around 15K Max. I got an offer from ebay for my B'Day. The offer gives me a discount of 15%, subject to a Max. of Rs.1000 valid till 31st of this month. My idea was to go in for a grey only. What's your opinion? (Sometime back I had SMSed to you enquirering about your BOLD! from 99940xxx50)

I forgot the specification 'Bar' type body while posting, though I checked the RIM website.

If you are on a BIS plan of any network, it allows you to configure 10 emails, so that part is not a concern.

That's a 11 digit number. Is it a typo?

Depends on you mate. Just be careful because eBay doesnt cover direct cash deposit.

Oh yes yes, you can get a Curve within your budget and I can assure you its way better then the Pearl IMHO.

Now the question is whether 8300 or 8310 or 8320, which is better?
