| ![]() Please tell me where you DONT have your "contacts"! ![]() Now, as expected, the new Scorpio will take atleast 2 years to come since it is just in the drawing boards now. We can expect test mules by late 2013. I assume, till then TATA Storme will have a ball. |

I was wondering if we have any data to check if the electronic glitches do indeed feature on the export spec Scorpio & XUV 5OOs like they do here? Old Scorpio or new, it is going to take something special from Tata to make a dent in the 4000 units strong monthly volumes of the Scorpio! Last edited by manson : 15th June 2012 at 19:36.

Team-BHP Support ![]() ![]() | ![]() Is M&M production ready? Some time back Pawan Goenka also talked about the mini SUV being release by end of the year. (Some how he did not prefer to call it mini-Xylo). And then M&M have their hands on marketing Rexton and Korando. Can they have all these items in one go? Have they given thoughts about their dealer network? (Both awareness and count). Last edited by ampere : 15th June 2012 at 19:46. |

Judging by the review of the new TATA Storme, it was not as exciting as I thought it would be. But then, we cannot disagree the fact that the Storme is indeed a new gen product when compared to the decade old Scorpio. I do understand that Scorpio is currently the leader in that segment and though I am not very sure, I do feel that, if priced correctly (maybe 30-50k more than Scorpio), the Storme MAY affect the Scorpio by some margin.

| ![]() Santy - Is this news from Mahindra's stables? I seriously doubt whether a 1.5 twin turbo will power the scorpio. heck indica itself has/had a 1.6 engine. There were plan of a 2.2 twin turbo for the xuv. My best bet would be that it would be launched as a trial run on the scorpio and then if its successful they might launch on the XUV. if 1.5 liter is tuned to keep up pace with the scorpio's weight, it would have to be tuned hard and it might lead to engine re-bore at 1,50,000 kms |

| ![]() Will this (1.5L 3 cylinder, 100ps engine)be powerful enough to pull the vehicle & the Scorpio brand image/ legacy? This would be like blown away by the Storme & accepting defeat without a fight. I believe the new Scorpio could be the 2.2L diesel with more power 160ps (or more) & bigger than current Scorpio, which will reposition it above the monocoque XUV500, & throw a challenge to Tatas. 1.5 litre for a 2+ tonne vehicle is too underpowered. If its loaded to the brim with 7, it would definetly struggle on ghats. the Current 2.2 mhawk with a twin turbo should be attractive on the scorpio. | |

![]() BTW, Palio/ Siennas/ Petras had the 1.9l MJDs & not the 1.6L MJDs, & few of my family friends had the diesel Palios (in Punjab of course). Fiat's 1.6L diesel is yet to come to India in affordable trim (Fiat/ Suzuki/ Tata/ GM, etc). They never launched the under test 1.5L Diesel or Petrol. All they had on sale were 1.4L Petrols (75bhp & 100bhp), 1.4L Diesels (TDI & DICOR with few CC difference between them) & 1.2L Petrol. I believe we are way off topic, & must get back to new Scorpio, the test mules of which haven't been seen anywhere till date unfortunately. Hopefully, Mahindra can surprise all by doing a very fast testing & launch. Last edited by CARDEEP : 22nd September 2012 at 11:30.
