Cartoq has made a mistake. The interior pic is indeed of the S-Cross.

The Ciaz concept showcased at the Expo is actually the Suzuki Authentics concept on which the Ciaz sedan will be based on. The interiors of the Ciaz concept are still conceptual.

After a lull, Authentics is back, now seen testing in China. Seem to carry the same design langauge as seen in the Auto Expo. YL1 would be a segment lower than the Authentics.

To debut at the Beijing Auto show in April. China would be the first to get it and later India. India launch expected to be in the festive season ( Aug- Oct).

The Suzuki Authentics stands on the same platform as the Suzuki S-Cross . The Authentics will get the same 120hp 1.6 as the S-Cross and a new 1.4 liter four-cylinder with about 100hp

Price in China is rumored to ~ 9 - 14 lakhs. The Suzuki Authentics will compete with cars such as the Chevrolet Cruze and Nissan Sylphy.

From the pictures it seems that the spyshots are of the YL1/Ciaz. I don't know if there is going to be a separate car above the YL1, called the Authentics but this car is most probably the YL1 which was scooped by the OP.

In China Ciaz/Authentics sedan will be powered by a 1.6 liter petrol engine also doing duty on the S-Cross which is capable of 120 bhp peak power and 156 Nm torque, and a new 1.4 liter four-cylinder with about 100hp.

Car buyers in India is speculated to be offered the option of a 1.3 liter DDIS diesel engine or a 1.6 liter diesel engine with more details being revealed closer to launch date.

CIAZ to launch in September 2014 - AMT is one of the variants.

A wide range of engines and states of tune are being tested on the Ciaz, but more importantly, the sedan will also get the automated manual transmission (AMT) technology that recently debuted on the Celerio.

Ciaz being a global sedan,the equipment levels, however, will vary as per market requirement. Expect the India-spec Ciaz to get a push-button starter, climate control, rear A/C vents and automatic headlamps and wipers.

Speculation is if the S cross will come with the 1.6 then there is s possibly of Ciaz too gettig the same too.

1.6L MJD and 1.6L P that does duty in SX4 if these are given in the new launched then it will be a sight to see and hoot to drive.

I'll do a heart transplant to my Swift with the 1.6L MJD aka DDiS.

Isn't it the other way round? That is, Maruti would be launching the Ciaz, and is currently weighing on which engine to equip the SX4 cross with? If I am not wrong, SX4 cross is not slated for 2014 launch. I fervently hope for a low pricing for Ciaz, though I feel it will venture into the 8.5-11L segment.

Launch of the Ciaz will happen earlier than the s cross, but the variants will be decided considering the S cross options that they opt for.
