re: 2014 Toyota Innova Facelift - Now Launched!

Hi I just found this news as on 17 Sep 2013 from zigwheels.com: Toyota is planning to launch the refreshed Innova within 15-20 days in India

It seems there would be a new top-end variant on the Innova called the ‘Z’. Priced at approximately INR 17.5 lakhs plus (on-road). They say Z variant is expected to pack a comprehensive infotainment system.

If the news is already covered, please ignore.

Does anyone here feel that Innova should have an automatic transmission?

In the south eastern countries, a petrol automatic variant is always available, hope it makes it into India.

However, with that hideous look, does it really matter?

Innova is a car that is meant to clock lots of miles. At the present situation with petrol prices alternating like nuts I doubt one would be tempted to own a petrol automatic Innova (automatic transmission petrol MUV with even lower mileage) and I am sure Toyota will not even have a slightest of thought about automatic Innova.

Wow that is one ugly car! I wont be surprised to see sales fall and the designer (or rather the failed designer) retain his job at Toyota for this monstrosity.

re: 2014 Toyota Innova Facelift - Now Launched!

Somehow I think TKML should let current generation Innova to be in Indian market. Else they should offer both the models. I am sure that both the options are not viable. If there is steep price increase, then Innova sales are going to suffer.

There are new products like Chevrolet Enjoy, Ashok Leyland Stile (yet to be launched), Evalia, Mahindra Xylo which can be an alternative to this variant of Innova.

re: 2014 Toyota Innova Facelift - Now Launched!

Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indian subsidiary of Japanese auto giant, yesterday announced an increase in the prices of almost all its models. This price rise will be effective from September 21st, 2013. Thanks to this price increase, the Liva, Etios, Innova and Corolla Altis will become dearer by upto 1.50 per cent.

The range of price increase for each product is:

- Innova – Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 11,000
- Corolla Altis – Rs. 11,000 to Rs. 24,000
- Etios- Rs 4,000 to Rs 8,000
- Etios Liva – Rs 4,500 to Rs 8,600

The manufacturer says it was forced to increase the prices due to its inability to bear the burden of inflation, falling rupee and increase in the cost of materials.

Now that the Innova just got pricier by upto INR 11000, we wonder if the facelift, which is hardly 15 days away from coming to us, would bring along with a further price increase. The facelift could be costlier than the current model by upto INR 15000.

Going by this logic, the innova is a sales dud then! Because the competetion (alto) sells >20K per month whereas innova is selling just 4-5K per month. There is something called segment, and aria/innova belong to same segment and are direct competitors.

I understand what are segments buddy.

When I said "Aria was never a competition to the Innova", what I meant was that sales figures of Aria has been so low since the beginning that Toyota may have never considered the Aria as a serious threat to the Innova.

re: 2014 Toyota Innova Facelift - Now Launched!

This car is absolutely H.I.D.E.O.U.S

Expect a price increase of 50,000-75,000 across all variants or perhaps more AND expect all that nonsensical chrome to either add to or have no effect on the sales of the Innova. Most of us Indians are absolutely Cuckoo for the garish stuff.

It would be a positive improvement if TKM offered the Indonesian Touch Screen instead of a cheap after market one, but since no one else seems to be doing that, it is doubtful they will.

I for one would love to see the Indian car market evolve enough to put this model out of business sooner rather than later.

I was hoping for something better looking atleast.

Now looks like I will have to settle for a Fortuner.

Any idea if the face lift of the Fortuner is going to be available this year too?

re: 2014 Toyota Innova Facelift - Now Launched!

It seems the launch date has been finalized. My friend at Amana Toyota

Malappuram told me that it will be 28th September, Saturday. Did not get the

brochure yet. Will try to upload the brochure if I get it before the launch. No info

on pricing. I am not bothered about looks but equipment.

Thanks.

re: 2014 Toyota Innova Facelift - Now Launched!

Latest update: The new model will be delayed by a few days, the word is 5th October. Meanwhile I booked the yet-to-be-face-lifted Innova (the current Innova, VX model) because apart from price rise and some external and internal
minor differences there is nothing remarkably new in the new Innova. Planning to take delivery some time next week.

Thanks.

Looks like the local bling- a-ding shops bribed toyota for this.Well i heard 4th october will be the launch date so still, the last batch can hopefully get it at discounts over the new stock. So two birds with one stone- better looks and more justifiable price.

Did you get a discount since it's an outgoing model?

Yet to negotiate completely but at least 40,000/- discount I am getting with a less than SBI interest rate from Toyota Finance (4.95% fixed for 10 lakhs for 5 years - EMI around 20750/- INR).

Having difficulty in selling my 2 year old petrol 36700 km run Etios VX model.

Might take delivery if I get a good offer for my current car.

Thanks.
