Prices of each variant are only going to go up. I think the next hike is going to be from April 2017. Never have luxury car manufacturers reduced prices apart from going CKD/SKD from the CBU route.
Exactly the point I'm trying to make. Pls read my post again. It mentions price reductions due to cheaper variants and not price reductions in the same model.

Incidentally there's some mouth watering discounts on the current 5 series if anyone is interested.

So the launch of the new 5-series has been confirmed for May 12 & 13 in Bangalore. I reckon Delhi and Mumbai have it earlier.

Could you explain better what the last portion of the video is about where it says "System avoided crash"? Is that a feature of the car where it avoids collisions on its own?

Euro NCAP’s newest test of autonomous emergency braking (AEB) technology for pedestrians. By including this test as part of the safety rating, Euro NCAP takes the lead world-wide in encouraging advanced crash avoidance technology for all cars.

We just bought an X5 M-Sport and this (attachment) is the closest thing to AEB in it's brochure. The Salespeople never mentioned any such thing as a safety feature.
Does this mean my car has this AEB function?

The one on your X5 is different, there will be a message on display if the system detects driver fatigue and will show places to rest/ eat. I don't think that BMW has given any radar-based safety features yet in Indian market even on 7 series, perhaps it will be a while.

They're giving out pre launch test drives to prospective customers too, you may contact them and you'll get the answer.
But, if you'd take my word, I'd say keep the 328i for some time more and buy the new 530d in its first refresh
Your 3 is hardly driven, in case you plan to sell it, please let fellow t-bhpians know, I'll figure out my finances and Mumbai- Delhi transfer hassles by then.

re: The next-gen BMW 5-Series (G30). EDIT: Launched at Rs. 49.90 lakh

Saw the Car up close.
Amazing stance and M Performance Brakes are standard on the 530d along with Adaptive Damping,Bigger HUD,Ceramic Controls,Bigger iDrive,RSE and Nappa Leather although the rear space has improved, the front seats don't offer the same bolstering the current M Sport offers.
We do not get the ACC or any of the semi-autonomous functions although 360 Camera is present along with Display Key and Remote Parking.
Later this year more engine options will be coming in,but we won't get the M550i.
They are waiting for GST Implementation to announce the prices.
Also, M760Li is coming in July along with 330i Sedan.
Although this comes from a reliable source, lets wait and watch.
Sorry got only one pic. Will wait for others to post better pics.
