Don't try showrooms. The best is to check with your nearest CSD depot. You can buy cars only from a place which has a CSD depot there.

The CSD depot will be able to give you contact details of the showroom which will give you the car.

re: Buying a car through the CSD. EDIT: Revised criteria on page 21

The plummeting sales and the threat of Creta and S Cross has made Nissan finally introduce Terrano in CSD canteen. Last ditch effort by them to garner sales. I fail to understand why for last three years they did not do so.

Can anyone please confirm whether the Centralized Car sanction which was required for purchase of Car through CSD has been discontinued. This could be a great relief for everyone.

Yes it has been discontinued and now one can directly approach concerned depot from where you want to buy the car.

re: Buying a car through the CSD. EDIT: Revised criteria on page 21

Had sent an email to Hyundai wrt availability of Creta through CSD Canteen.
Was surprised by their prompt reply which is as under :
Quote:
Dear Sir,

We will be making the necessary arrangements to register Creta in CSD, however, the same will depend on our management approval.

We have updated your interest and will get back with the details shortly.
Will keep the forum updated

Guys, anyone aware about the availability of S-Cross through CSD?

Considering it's Maruti, it should be available soon.

And anyone has the price list of 4 wheelers in different cities available through CSD? There's a PDF uploaded on csdindia.gov.in but I can't make out what month/year it reflects.

The price list on the csd site is not yet updated
No news yet of Cross in CSD.
I had even written to Hyundai for Creta but they seem to be busy with their bookings and are not responding now.
One new item is that now all models of Eco sport have started coming to canteen. I got a mail from Hissar, where they now have Eco Boost and AT version also through canteen.
In case you want to get the latest list then pm me , i will send email of the person who will provide updated price list of various locations

re: Buying a car through the CSD. EDIT: Revised criteria on page 21

Car in csd is 1007000, because its above 10L registration costs in Delhi is 12.5%, dealer tells me he will give me discount and make cost 963000, this will bring down duty in Delhi for me to 8.75%. Can this be done, is it legal?

First of all heartiest congratulations on your purchase and sincere thanks for initiating a very useful thread. Although the information provided is quite exhaustive but had a query that whether still the centralized vehicle sanction is required to buy through CSD.

Regards.

No CSD car sales in Karnataka. The nearest CSD Depot for car sales is in Chennai. You may purchase the car at Chennai through any of the CSD registered dealers, have temporary registration done at Chennai (typically costing about Rs 10K) and get it registered in Karnataka (typically costing a bomb ).

re: Buying a car through the CSD. EDIT: Revised criteria on page 21

Guys, are we allowed to buy the car from any depot or do we need to be staying in the same city where the depot is located?

For instance, I am based out of Pune/Mumbai, though Mumbai has a CSD depot for vehicles, rates at Ahmedabad are lower. So buy it from there and get it registered in Maharashtra?

Thanks in advance.

You can buy from ahmedabad and register in your city of residence.
There are restrictions in a few depots like in UP because of rules made by state government.
