Hi rkg,

I quite like the footmats that you have used in the Aria. Are they custom fit for the Aria or did u have to resort to trimming them to fit?

Also what brand are they? What do they cost? Are they anti-slip, as in they don't move underfoot due to movement of drivers feet while driving?

Thanks in advance.

The foot mats were offered by Prerana Motors. Not good. Not anti slip.

My ARIA completed 15K service. Cost Rs 3593/- Only engine oil, oil filter and sediment filter needs to be replaced at every 15K service. Fuel filter @ 30K service.

ARIA has a greasing nipple on propeller shaft and needs to be grease @ every 15K. Concorde motors guy said there is no need to grease as there are no greasing nipple. I had showed him the owners manual. Then they checked and saw the nipple.
Further the basic model LX has some spring(red colored) in the rear suspension. This spring needs to be delinked before vehicle is lifted up.

I got my vehicle lifted up during PDI and during first service I did not see the spring you mentioned. Why should it be delinked before the vehicle is lifted up?

It appears the spring will extend too much because of the weight of tyres when car if lifted & reduce the lifespan of the spring, if it is not delinked.
He told me it is there in Pure LX because it does not come with ABS. it is something of load sensing ect etc stuff. will check again and post.

Re: More powerful Tata Aria with 150PS & 320 Nm

Looks like the Eagle will land by Aug 2015.
http://www.motoroids.com/news/tata-a...g-august-2015/

The Eagle face-lift shall address the oddball looks rather comprehensively, with an all-new front fascia including new headlamps, grille & bumper, and a thoroughly re-designed rear, which will thankfully do away with the lazily styled “upside-down Indica tail-lamps”. Some major changes in interior trim, ICE and design are in the offing too and 6 speed gear box.

The photos
Red spring in original position and when it was disconnected.
It appears this particular spring senses the load on the wheels and accordingly applies brake force.

Final two photos are greasing nipple on the propeller shaft

Is it possible to detach the spring prior to lifting the vehicle? When i saw the spring the space underneath below that seemed to be a bit tight to work with. Should the vehicle be lifted just a wee bit so that a mechanic can move under the vehicle to loosen the bolt ?

The worker at TASS has just crept under the car like a a road side mechanic and disconnected the spring, then he lifted it. I had asked him, why he is doing it. then he told me about the spring

Re: More powerful Tata Aria with 150PS & 320 Nm

I took my Aria to KHT for a regular checkup before my highway drive next week. They tried to sell to me the gold AMC for 2 years for about 15.2k. This includes everything - right from consumables during servicing and wear and tear parts like brake pads, lining, clutch etc.

The math that the guy who tried selling this to me was

1st servicing - 3500
2nd servicing - 9800
brake pad - 4500
lining - 2800
clutch - 3500
wiper blade - 400
bushes - 1500

So that totals up to 13300 for servicing and 21500 for the rest which is 34800 in all.

What i wanted to understand from this group is - is it worth going for it? I owned an innova prior to this and my brake pads were changed at 75k kms. No clutch or bushes issues. In this case the guy who was selling this to me was very confident that these would need a change within 30k kms.

Load-sensing Proportionate Valve or LSPV.

You have answered yourself here! 30K change is slightly acceptable for changing brake pads, but NEVER a clutch change. If the guy is confident of anyone requiring a clutch change in 30K kms, do NOT buy that product. My Swift D did great till 90K kms on the first clutch (I was told that I'll need to change it in 1L kms due to juddering which I attribute to my dad's second gearing lugging).

Unless someone really tries hard, I doubt there is any vehicle which would require such an early replacement. On the other hand, that guy is simply screwing a good product's reputation for an easy gain!

Its a good AMC package, but be careful if you go ahead with this.

I have an AMC for my Nano and one of the SA's of this very same dealership seemed to've forged a fake job card(!) on my car for service!

The fake service was recorded to be in May 2013 IIRC, and all the consumables were charged !!!

Ofcourse the bill was 0 as it was covered under AMC, but I only suspected so when a guy from the dealership came to my house with a "Service Feedback" form falsely claiming the feedback was for the company!!!

Since this was the 2nd time this was happening, I immediately called the CRM & SA, even they lied that such feedbacks were actually being collected.

So I believed them & filled up the form, but I suspected this so I also took pictures of :

the "Feedback" form,
the ID card of the person, and,
the person himself.

And tweeted all the above to the company & even mailed the top management of the dealership.

My suspicion was confirmed when I went to service my car in August when I saw my service history on their computer. So, I complained to the dealer principal, still awaiting action .

(Trivia : Did you know that your service records in the parent company's database are "internal documents" which won't be shared with you under almost ALL circumstances.)

So, if you happen to buy the AMC, keep a close eye on the service records of your car.

You can even see some of the last service details here.

^^^^^^^^
This is something that had happened with me too. My gut feeling is that the free parts under warranty get misused and perhaps sold in the market.
