Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Whoaa! this one looks real stunner! Front looks aggressive and stylish with those nice projectors and DRLs. Front turn indicators are on bumper.

Do the headlamps have a corner function like in TUV?
Also, any information on overall build quality? is it typical Maruti like or any better?

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Wow...Brezza is a looker. Until this unveiling lot of us were debating about the rear end design and it looks very decent and clean. Kudos to MS for pulling this one off. Overall size looks proportionate and adequate. Boot of 330 lts is good for this size.

All in all excellent vehicle...need to look out for the price tag...!!!

It does look like a baggage hook. Good move MSIL, but it would have been better if closed lower.

The twin Glove box will be only on the variants without the passenger airbag i presume. In the versions with the passenger airbags the top glove box space will house the airbag. Fiat had done this earlier.

Awesome work by Mr.CV Raman and Team. Brezza does look like fresh breeze.
Now, if we look closely, are we missing a rear AC vent?

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

WOW! I like this car. If they launch an auto version, I would surely be a customer.

I have one thought which arises from my little knowledge of strategy / marketing... all the features warrant that this car should have been from NEXA. I think MS has put a nail into the coffin for NEXA by launching this through regular MS or as they say in Hindi, "apni pair par kulhadi maar diya"!

Any thoughts?

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

The roof antenna looks hideous. Why to spoil all the hard work with one such thing. Why cant MS provide a shark fin roof antenna?

Autocar has covered this also in the video. A well incorporated feature.

@RavenAvi had a touch & feel of the product and rates the build quality similar to the Baleno.

No, if you observe closer, the passenger airbag is present on the flat surface of the dashboard. Even I thought that they may not provide dual glove box on passenger airbag enabled version, but this is done very well.

That guy is easily a 6-footer and the leg room looks quite decent for a sub 4m car. Since the seating is tall, we would feel better spacious due to the knee angle. Even Ecosport rear seat is not VERY spacious, but the sitting angle helps tremendously.

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

This is a stunner! Maruti Suzuki have got the proportions spot on, and I'm glad they've kept the spare wheel inside the boot, despite its sub-4m length. This is going to set their cash registers ringing loudly for sure. Thumbs up to the GC of 198mm!

The only baffling thing is the lack of a petrol motor, when its main direct rival (Ford EcoSport) comes with not one, but two petrol engines! The S-Cross and Vitara Brezza will be diesel-only vehicles in Maruti Suzuki's line-up, at least for now. This is so uncharacteristic for a company that once ardently championed the cause of petrol vehicles. If the 1.0 Boosterjet needs more time before launch, they should have at least provided the 1.2 Dualjet petrol now, as it's a newer and slightly more powerful version of the 1.2 K-series engine. Or the 1.4 K-series, even if it negates the sub-4m length for excise purposes.

I'm glad the LED elements in the headlamps are proper DRLs (a very useful feature) as in the Baleno, and not mere positioning lamps (which serve no purpose other than adding a little bling at night) as in the S-Cross.

I wish they keep the contrasting roof colour as an option only. The black roof looks good, but I'm not a fan of the white one. At the very least, they should provide the option of going for a black roof instead of the white one.

Ford must be worried now, as the EcoSport finally gets a direct rival i.e. a modern monocoque, 5-seater, sub-4m vehicle (if one ignores the pioneering Premier Rio). The minor upgrade to the EcoSport (100 PS diesel engine, non-LED DRLs, RHD controls, repositioned handbrake etc.) do not seem enough now. It needs a minor facelift, along with LED DRLs, projector headlamps, electrically retractable mirrors, touchscreen SAT-NAV system, reverse camera etc. Most importantly, they need to make dual airbags standard on the Trend and Ambiente variants. They should also localise the 1.0 EcoBoost soon.

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

On a lighter note,
Reserve your comments on its Pricing( higher side), Maruti Suzuki's sales team is keenly watching this thread.

However we can put out our expectations realistically, Vitara Brezza could be a killer in its segment( and above) if it retails at 6.7 lakhs and range topping at 9.5 lakhs ex showroom Delhi.

From the official Press release, Global Suzuki,

Customization a first in this segment for India,

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

That's a looker! IMHO the best looking Maruti after the original Swift.

This is how the S-cross should have looked (> 4 meters of course).

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

VB is wider and has more height than creta. Should look good however with smaller wheelbase, we should have less space inside.
all those who have seen both (VB and Creta), how is the inside space
