Like I said in the Zest official thread...Kite5 should replace Zest. Space is less but still it will be a nice ploy in my opinion. Tata Motors need to plonk 4cyl engines and carry forward all features of Zest. Call it the ALL NEW ZEST. Something we saw happened to Honda City in 2008 (Dolphin to ANHC).

No, this cannot be true. Tata in the past has come up with good names, be it sierra, safari, indica, zest, nexon, xenon, nano, pixel, kite, etc. So how can they come up with these funny names.
Also, recently they have crowdsourced the Zica name replacement so they must be having thousands of worthy names with them.

For me Canvas is a decent name for the Kite Sedan compared to Sway. My pick would be Canvas among the three names listed.

Adore suits the masterfully crafted Kite 5 sedan the most. What a beauty!

All the other 3 names as suggested are not so great. That's my personal opinion.

If Dribble, Canvas & Ingrid are the three shortlisted names, then I think Kite 5 would probably be named the Tata Dribble.

Why? It's the Lionel Messi connection.

Messi's son is named Thiago, the Kite 4 is called Tata Tiago. Messi's dribbling skills are unquestionably the best in the world, so the Kite 5 is likely to be called Tata Dribble!

The more appropriate analogy would be the Honda city move from the original shape to the dolphin. The original shape was on the Civic platform while the Dolphin was on the Jazz / Fit platform. So they had moved to a smaller platform.

They may be trying for a football connection, but 'dribble' also brings up connotations of dribbling from the mouth (spit), lunacy and all sorts of not very pleasant associations. Would be -IMO - the worst possible name for a product. Canvas feels bland to me, while Ingrid is opaque in its meaning.

Why not name it 'Messy'? Keeps the connection (without having to pay for naming rights), and an accurate reflection of TATA's current state of affairs.

After the delays with Tiago/Zica, rumors have started that Kite will be launched around December only. Hard to understand why it is taking so much time for products to come out of Tata stable.
On a side note, after looking at the pictures from auto expo, i cannot stop drooling over the coupe like boot. Looks like Tata has transferred some Jaguar design people over to Pune!
