Re: The Mega Auto Expo 2016 Thread: General Discussion, Live Feed & Pics

The interior of the Nexon looks good. But exterior looks more like it was designed with the help from Mahindra.
The touch screen on the centre console looks out of place. Something that was added as an after market fitment.

But have to admit the Kite is an absolute stunner. Doesn't look like a sub 4m car. Good job Tata.

So tata finally offers push button start on one of their vehicles in Nexon. A brilliant product what an effort along with the Hexa and Kite. Cheers. 👏

Nice! Especially Love the GTR and that G Wagen 4x4 squared.

The Renault Racing Concept looks mean and a bit Audi -ish If I may say so.

Nice to see the manufacturers putting up a show.

The guys at Bajaj, RE, Volvo et.al need to understand that this is something where people get to experience a product and can improve sales, or maybe they are happy with what they have .

Re: The Mega Auto Expo 2016 Thread: General Discussion, Live Feed & Pics

Copying this post here from a thread I created. Thought it may be useful here too -

BMW launches at the expo -

All new X1 -

Sdrive 20d Expedition - 29,90,000
Sdrive 20d Xline - 33,90,000
Xdrive 20d Xline - 35,90,000
Xdrive 20d M sport - 39,90,000

All new 7 series -

730ld Design Pure Excellence - 1,11,00,000
730ld M sport - 1,19,00,000
730ld Design Pure Excellence (CBU) - 1,40,00,000
750li Design Pure Excellence (CBU) - 1,50,00,000
750li M Sport (CBU) - 1,55,000,000

X5 -

X5 30d M sport - 75,90,000

So apart from the 3 series a few days ago, the new X1 seems to have had its prices revealed. The pricing seems spot on IMO. Some notes on the X1 -

-All versions have LED headlights, good move by BMW
-Nice to see both front wheel drive and all wheel drive
-Sensatec on all but M sport
-All cars besides base model are running 18" wheels
-Smaller idrive screen on all variants besides M sport
-M sport gets the full shebang including M sport suspension and head up display

Also revealed are the 7 series pricing. The CKDs seem to be priced well, hopefully they are fully loaded too.

Lastly BMW seems to have officially launched the X5 M sport trim. Few features added to the X5 M sport -

-M sport body kit with 19" wheels including M suspension
-Head up display
-Comfort seats in the front

Absolutely agree there is a Mahindra-ish touch to the Nexon- not saying in a derogatory sense. But the detailing would have one believe it belongs to the Mahindra stable. lol

Now that's what I call a bargain. Seriously? Are they outta business yet? The nano is costlier. Okay okay, Jokes apart, BMW has just stepped up its game and came up with some good cars. Now it all comes up to how they sell ain't it?

Yes the interior looks simple and modern. Oh is it a touch screen??
I thought it is only display screen similar to BMW. Also it seems the screen is mounted straight instead of tilting towards the driver and it may not offer better accessibility.

As you have said the exterior design is not impressive especially the rear end which looks similar to new Ford Fiesta (Europe version). Vitara Brezza looks much better overall.

Anyone covered the D-Max V Cross? Please post some pics. I can't find any resources online other than cardekho.com

Frustrating that it hasn't been covered at all :(

Re: The Mega Auto Expo 2016 Thread: General Discussion, Live Feed & Pics

I don't see a lot of discussion over the Renault-Nissan offerings... Surely the Kwid 1.0 AMT has the potential to outsell most of the new launches we've seen today?

Also, can we have some more pics of the Datsun GO Crossover please? And finally, wasn't Nissan's version of the Kwid - the Datsun Redi-Go supposed to debut at the expo? What happened?

Tata Nexon is beautiful.
Market it right folks, and the car will do the rest.

And this is how you could improve a brand name with ingenuity.

Renault has a webcast today at 3pm.

Link: https://www.renault.co.in/auto-expo-2016.html

Assume we will see the refreshed Duster with AMT and hear more details about the Kwid 1.0.

DSK Benelli unveils four new superbikes at the Auto Expo 2016

Italian superbike manufacturer DSK Motowheels unveiled four new superbikes at the Auto Expo 2016 - The TNT Naked T-135, BX 250, Tornado 300 and the TRK 502. These models will also be making their way to DSK Benelli showrooms in the coming future.

Quote:
The Adventure tourer, TRK 502 is powered by a 499.6cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine equipped with electronic injection. The engine spouts 48 PS at 8,500rpm and the maximum torque of 45 Nm at 4,500rpm. The power is sent to the wheels through a 6-speed gearbox with hydraulic clutch. The whole engine is fitted into a trellis frame and a large 20ltrs fuel tank is housed under the seat.
Quote:
The Tornado 302 is powered by the same 300 cc in-line 2-cylinder, 4-stroke engine as the TNT 300 but is tuned to deliver a peak power output of 35 HP at 12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 26 Nm at 9000 rpm. The transmission, a 6 speed gearbox from the TNT 300 is carried over as well. The under-belly exhaust is shed for an aluminium single exhaust pipe with twin ports. The fuel tank capacity is limited to 14 litres. The Tornado 302 measures 2175 mm in length, 746 mm in width and 1146 mm in height, the latter two excluding the mirrors. The ground clearance stands at 180 mm while the wheelbase measures 1410 mm.
Quote:
Unveiled at the EICMA 2015 Milan Motorcycle Show, the Benelli Tornado Naked T was also showcased at the Expo. Power comes from a 135 cc, single-cylinder engine good for 12.6 HP @ 9000 rpm and maximum Torque 10.8 NM @ 7000 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed gearbox. Seat height is 780 mm, while fuel tank capacity is rated at 7.2 litres.
Quote:
DSK Benelli also showcased the new Motard 250, or BX 250 a rugged dirt bike especially designed for young riders. The BX 250 is powered by a single-cylinder, 250 cc engine which delivers a maximum power of 25 HP at 9000 rpm, and 21 Nm (2.1 kgm) of torque at 7000 rpm. Other technical highlights include a six speed transmission, wet sump lubrication and oil bath clutch.

Re: The Mega Auto Expo 2016 Thread: General Discussion, Live Feed & Pics

First of all, a big shout-out to all team-bhp moderators and members who are busy clicking photographs, gathering information and working hard to publish all the content on our forum.

I just told my wife that this month I will be eating all the bandwidth of our internet.

The Nexon is good inside but exteriors, especially the rear could be more fun. Hope the production version has something different. Kite 5 was love-at-first-sight for me.

Waiting for more pictures of Chevvy Essentia. Too many cars to see, I'm unable to get my thoughts organized.
Okay, back to drooling...
