This is most probably a test mule, courtesy the masked Punto monogram and Abarth logos.

Any idea if the OEM Abarth alloys are/will be available through the FIAT dealership? Any similar alloys available? These look gorgeous!

Could this be the regular punto with the T-Jet motor producing the same power as the Linea T-Jet and the other being the Abarth version producing 145 Bhp?

On a side note I just called the guys at Torque Fiat - Gurgaon to inquire if they would display and offer test drives for the Abarth Punto, the salesperson responded in the affirmative, I am happy that I wouldn't need to go to the fiat cafe in Delhi.

I also asked if the car had arrived at their yard and if I may drop by for just a look, he mentioned the car is yet to arrive. He also stated that the ex showroom price is 9,50,000 /- and urged me to book.
There is no fiat cafe anymore in Delhi NCR. It was in CP till a few months back. It closed down. Only the showroom in okhla of kashyap fiat has an official Abarth showroom in Delhi. But good to know that abarth pinto will be available at other dealers too. Shows that fiat wants numbers with this vehicle.

The 'powered by abarth' looks wicked!
They should definitely use something like this on the punto.
This is like the most exciting moment in the Indian hatch back history.

The cuts added to overall oomph factor no matter how small. Really sad the production version loses it.
For the first time, i am seeing a difference in logo between the badge on the bonnet and the badge on the wheel ! Nice !

This is a Fiat Avventura "powered by Abarth". To say an Abarth Punto is "powered by Abarth" would be redundant, wouldn't it?

For all those waiting with eager anticipation to test drive the Punto Abarth - it's confirmed from my sources that cars will be available at all Fiat Caffe showrooms from 22nd October onwards.

The Goodyears are on the Avventura (205/55 R16) and the Apollo would be for the Evo Abarth with 195/55 R16 profile.

The design guidelines for the Abarth was always flexible like this.
The scorpion is the most important thing with the background changing in different places.
Even in the scorpion, Abarth has maintained the same shape but many colours have been used (Black, white, red, orange, chrome) depending on where the logo is placed
This flexibility is very good because, in each and every place, you can adapt to the background and make it look good

I meant the font. My bad, should have been more specific.

re: A Close Look: Fiat Punto Abarth. EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 9.95 lakhs!

Boy! Fiat is really bustling around in the Social Media too, way to go Fiat! ABARTH was really a much needed shot for the performance-hungry enthusiasts in our "kitna deti hai?" country.
The ABARTH scorpion itself pumps more excitement so I did some research on the logo:

Quote:
DESIGN ELEMENTS, HISTORY AND EVOLUTION OF ABARTH LOGO

Shape of the Abarth Logo

The Abarth logo is widely regarded as one of the memorable and instantly recognizable car logos in history. It comprises of a shield insignia which fosters the notion of passion and triumph. The scorpion depicted inside the shield reflects Scorpio, the astrological sign of the company’s founder Karl Alberto Abarth, who was born on November 15th, 1908.

Colors of the Abarth Logo

The Abarth logo features red, white and green stripes, the same colors found in the flag of Italy. The red and yellow colors that make up the shield make a reference to the immense passion, intensity, energy and joy of the racing arena.

Font of the Abarth Logo

The font that appears in the Abarth logo is a marginally modified form of the Microgramma Bold D Extended typeface.

And Carlo Abarth was originally an Austrian, who returned to Italy after the WW-2, and changed his name from Karl-> more Italian sounding "Carlo".
