happy with the execution. Design looks clean compared to what we used to see from Mahindras before. Sensible to brand it as another XUV to give that instant connect with the aspiring customers who either want an SUV or want to upgrade to XUV someday in future.

I am sure this can challenge the likes of EcoSport, WR-V etc (if not Vitara) and has the potential to become second in the category

Can XUV3OO displace Tata's Nexon and occupy the second slot in sales of the most growing compact SUV segment?

Different shades of the latest compact SUV.

Clean proportions - check
More spacious - seems a check
segment first features - check
very good safety - check, if all those 7 airbags open when needed (few XUV episode), they should target 4* min in gncap
Most powerful engines - check for diesel, expecting them to detune it a bit for FE sake, turbo petrol is ready ?

Give a good clutch gearbox combo to work with, beat the EcoSport on dynamics, Nexon on power/ride quality, make sure electronics and sensor work as they should, long term warranty, second 5* indian car ad & the runner up goes to.....:thumbs up

What is this `naming event' supposed to do? Why can't they just have it together with the launch?!! This thread started in the year 2015 with sightings of camouflaged vehicles, when Ssangyong Tivoli was already in sale globally. End 2018, they say they have a name. Mahindra better make it worth it.

Mahindra's started it with 'Marazzo', think Hyundai copied a similar event to Santro.. and now it seems a mandated step in the process of Mahindra's launches.:)

And in Mahindra's case their launch events are boring and imagine the 'Naming' event , how boring can this be!

Came across these posts from Anand Mahindra's Twitter page -

MODs - Did not find any existing threads on this. Please merge if there is one

Looks like the Tiguan and the XUV had a baby stupid:.

However, I feel some shots and angles in the TVC look much better than the pictures. IMO this design is more suitable to a car of bigger dimensions. Hope it looks better in flesh.

Another new launch without an automatic being an option initially. First the Harrier then the Kicks and now the XUV300. Seems there is a fixation for pricing within a particular price band.

IMHO the car is again overdone, in design.
It feels like its lost between choice of segments, whether to compete with Brezza & Nexon or target Creta.
Look wise, the rear is not appealing, the front should have carried forward the family grill.
Why a new design again?
The interiors look promising rather than anything else, there again that orange AirCon Display spoils the overall feel.
I am curious about the 300Nm rated engine. Must be a hoot to drive, tireshredding torque figures for a sub-4m car.

The kind of curiosity that was generated by respective companies before launch of EcoSport, Brezza and Nexon is nowhere to be seen here. Best example is the number of threads on Team-bhp for the other three. I think Mahindra is too late to bring this product to India. Also no major changes internally or externally when compared to Tivoli. Difficult for me to understand why it took more than 3 years then.

I really appreciate that this car will also have 7 airbags and is following the trend set by the Yaris. The 7 airbags are a game changer in this csuv segment and I hope that other cars like the Jeep Compass learn from this! They offer 6 airbags in only their highest limited plus and Limited 4x4 versions which is double the price of the XUV300. I only wish that XUV300 eventually also comes with a diesel auto variant and then Mahindra will take the complete cake and win a large share of business even cutting mid segment sedans!

Looks rather dated and nothing special to like either in the interiors or exteriors of this "new" Mahindra Compact SUV. Let's wait for the product and how it turns out early next year.

At last, some good looking compact SUV from Mahindra after their misadventures with KUV and NuvoSport. It certainly looks like a well-balanced one. The rear 3rd quarter looks similar to the Brezza I guess. Is it me or did anyone else felt the same? The images of the car in the darker shades certainly make it more appealing.

Mahindra is utilising Sangyong very well. First the Alturas / Rexton, now the XUV300 / Tivoli. Liked the rear quarter of the car. Front is not to my liking. I am still skeptical with its ability to fight the segment leader Brezza with respect to meeting its sales numbers. I can agree it can stand as a tough competition to Nexon & Ecosport, but Brezza is something we need to wait and watch once the car is launched.
