Which vehicle is this? At first glance, it looks similar to Mahindra S201. However, when I compared this images with other spied images, I found it different.

Looks like the Renault 7 seater code named RBC.

Seems like Renault RBC MPV to me. Even the TN 19 plates suggest a Renault-Nissan Alliance test mule...

Thanks to Nishant Nagda for sending these images in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing them with other enthusiasts via this Team-BHP page!

New spy images of the SsangYong Tivoli-based compact SUV sporting what appears to be production-spec bodywork have surfaced online.

The spy images suggest that the compact SUV is likely to get Mahindra-specific front and rear ends. The test mule has a front grille with vertical slats like other Mahindra vehicles and wraparound headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs. The front bumper has a rectangular air dam. At the rear, the SUV has a set of new tail lamp clusters and a roof spoiler. The spotter also revealed that the car had disc brakes all round.

The sub-4 meter SUV (codenamed S201) is expected to compete with the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and the Tata Nexon. Rumours suggest that it could be offered with a choice of 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol engines.

During my ride to Mandi last week, I too spotted 2 Tivolies around Bilaspur, Himachal. Probably, one each of petrol and diesel variants.

An orange-ish KUV (without camo) followed them closely in the twisties. It was the AMT with appropriate badging on the right lower end of the trunk lid. Surprisingly, all 3 were TN no. plate. I was expecting MH plates.

Couldn't take any photos.

Looks good! I can spot an auto-dimming IRVM; that's always a good thing. However, the tyres look a little skinny, could be the angle. And the ORVMs resemble the KUV's. I hope they don't use the same ones!

On a tall mango tree, there can be two approaches to get a fruit from ground.
1. Hurl a stone and get two mangoes down (Sniper precision). For example Brezza that ate everything around it and has grown monstrous proportions.
2. Hurl as many stones as possible in all possible directions and hope some will get a mango. I wish this stone hits the bullseye.

PS:
Past hurling: Nuvo-Sport vs Eco-Sport, TUV-300 vs Brezza

On a lighter note: Probably they hired a software guy practicing agile for the compact sub 4m segment. Poor guy forgot that this is not software...lol:

@Mods: Please feel free to delete if this is inappropriate.

On a more serious note: I think this might be a good contender in the market for Mahindra. The Tivoli certainly has what it takes to succeed in the segment and I personally like whatever we have seen so far (a mini Alturas).

Mahindra S201 name and design details to be unveiled on December 1, 2018, i.e. this saturday.

Apparently the unveiling has been postponed for now till further notice. Probably the harrier wave made them rethink? Mahindra would be hoping this one does what TUV/Nuvosport couldn't. Probably that's why would look for a better time.

Rather optimistic don't you think? M&M is getting ready to reap the benefits of riding the CSUV (pseudo SUV really) gravy train, just like the Brezza, Eco-sport & others. Without giving that little bit (but vital in my view) which all these mfrs are eager to push under the carpet - the AWD option. And in the process keeping the buyers' attention rivetted by offering all the other little goodies & candy-floss to keep them diverted from the genuine hardware! And as I've said earlier, laughing all the way to the bank!:)

I said optimistic because they have already lost the first-off-the-mark advantage to the likes of the Brezza, Ecosport and others.

This is going to be a crowded segment! You already have the Brezza, Nexon and the Ecosport. Now Mahindra joins in with this and Hyundai is going to launch one by mid or end of next year. I somehow get a feeling that it would be the Nexon, Ecosport which would be the most affected by these new launches rather than the Brezza which just because its a Maruti manages to put up stellar numbers.

From a pure product point of view, its the Ecosport which is the benchmark in this segment, but Im sure Mahindra will do quite well too.

Exactly my thought - the brezza and creta (until the smallest in line up arrives) are firmly established offerings by market leaders with the widest reach. Kind of covering two ends of the price spectrum (esp once brezza petrol arrives). Mahindra probably knows aiming at Maruti probably is a lost cause so anything above it is fair game. Read somewhere that Mahindra is looking at making this a premium offering with first of its kind features. The variants and price points are now important. Nexon and EcoSport have the most to lose and that is a good 5-7k chunk per month of segment sales?
