Mahindra's S201 is likely to be launched after the flagship model Y400. To get many first in class features to take on the crowded Compact SUV segment.

- SUV will come powered by the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that was recently introduced in the Marazzo MPV. This engine delivers a healthy 123hp and 300Nm in the MPV

- Top-spec S201s are expected to come with stylish 17-inch alloy wheels

- All wheels to have disc brakes

- Top-spec S201 is likely to come with a panoramic sunroof

- The model will come with dual-zone automatic climate control, again, unique to the segment.

- S201 is likely to come with seven airbags (another segment first), ABS, ESP and rear parking sensors too.

Looking at those renders, i like the Front and the back view. However the side profile looks similar to a hatchback and especially the rear side profile looks awkward(Same with Tivoli, not a fan of that design)

Mahindra's compact SUV now spotted in all variants, testing in Ooty,

Quote:

S201 is finished in a heavily camouflaged livery and is equipped with production headlamps and tail lights. The compact-SUV features a tall design with a boxy front-end. The front fascia gets wraparound headlights with halogen units on the base variant, while the top trims might get projector headlamps with LED DRLs, once they hit production.
Quote:

The rear profile of the Mahindra S201 features a slightly raked windshield, LED tail light cluster, a high-set stop lamp and reflectors on either side of the bumper. The S201 also gets roof rails which aid the looks of the SUV.

Spotted these today in Mangalore Karnataka. There were two cars.

Bhpian hserus & me drove to Karaikudi today morning from Chennai and we saw 3-4 mules of this. All looked like a production model and looks like it's in the final stages of of testing and launch should be soon.

Looks like an inflated Swift/ Fabia especially from the rear three-quarter. Some more glass area (bigger rear windows, rear quarter glasses) would have helped to shave every extra kilo that Mahindras are associated with. A 100bhp/ ton p-w ratio coupled with a 7.5 ex-showroom price clap: Fantabulous times ahead...

The Mahindra's CUV to launch only in early 2019, will come with a panoramic sunroof, a large touchscreen, cruise control and even features like dual-zone climate control system and four-wheel disc brakes.

the S201 will be positioned at the higher end of the compact SUV segment. Mahindra will give the S201 several unique features to set it apart from the Tata Nexon and the Maruti Vitara Brezza.

Spotted a near production C201 / Tivoli on my way to work earlier today. It looked fairly nicely proportioned for a 4 meter CUV and relatively more substantial than its possible competitors the Ecosport / Brezza.

Got a bunch of inputs for the sources:
Whilst the Tivoli is a couple of years late for the entry level UV party I expect it to do some significant numbers given Mahindra's rural reach and aggressive penetration pricing strategy (can't be so sure after the Marazzo though).

This morning on his way to Silvassa, my brother spotted the Tata Harrier at the Ghodbunder Road Signal which turns towards Vasai and Gujarat.
Why are they still testing real world experience of the vehicle if they are launching it in 2 months.

Unless it is not the Harrier but another secret Tata offering.

This is neither the Harrier, nor another Tata offering. This test mule resembles the Ssangyong Tivoli.

Thank you for that update.
You certainly have a great eye. Kudos.

But ssangyong tivoli doesn't have split tail lamp, which is evident on this mule. Otherwise it does look like the Tivoli

which car is this going to compete with? The size makes me feel its going up against the pseudo cross over hatchbacks like the i20 active, WRV etc.
How is this car placed w.r.t KUV? I get the feeling, Mahindra is shoehorning this Tivoli into its portfolio. Had they got this a few years ago they would have saved on the nuvosport as well as the KUV.

Which vehicle is this? At first glance, it looks similar to Mahindra S201. However, when I compared this images with other spied images, I found it different.
