amazing! wonder how many of these are diesel- I am guessing diesel would account for at least 70% of teh sales, and rightly so- that is one hell of an engine.

1.6 Petrol(variable valve)->103bhp
1.5 diesel->110bhp.

Any right minded guy will pickup the diesel and from what i know, 90% sales is diesel.

Not necessarily. The price differential between the Petrol and the Diesel is quite a bit, and there is a huge market for petrol out there if one goes by the NHC sales figures.

Uhh ohh.. This means that NHC/Fiesta sales have surely taken a hit. The figures might be high because of the festive days immediately after the launch. But still, a remarkable achievement for Hyundai.
BTW, even I havent seen a single Verna without TR/TC number plates till date in Pune.

When I took the test drive, right in front of us sitting in the showroom there were 4 cars being redied for delivery. 1 Petrol XXi and 3 crdi. One was white, 2 were that maroon, and 1 dark blue. And this was on Saturday last week, barely 4 days after launch.

Ok the problem people haven't seen registered cars on road is because RTO's all over India have not yet given their approval to the vehicle for registeration. This was told to me by a GM-Sales of one of the dealers off-record.

The approval is awaited sometime this week & only after that will you see registered cars on the road. Also the number of cars claimed by Hyundai might also include the confirmed orders awaiting delivery & hence the high figure but not enough vehicles on the road.

BTW Diesel sales are accounting for a huge majority, haven't got a confirmed figure yet though.

I guess this is true. My jaws dropped when I saw 2 Vernas parked at the Vijaya Hospital, last week(One CRDi and one petrol, possibly belonging to some doctors). Blood red, looked awesome indeed.

And the blow has been dealt. The Verna is damn sure to whisk away a huge percentage of NHC and Fiesta sales. And therein lies a catch. The diesel will continue to sell just as good, but the petrol might fade away- like the Accents and Elantras. Hyundai will always enjoy success with sub-10L diesels. But petrols, well...we've seen the Elantra petrol's fate now, haven't we. The Embera diesel could change Hyundai's image in the 15L segment, but until then...

No big deal - sales figure wise - the latest syndrome + year closing contributed to that. It will taper down after a while

The difference is that you dont NOTICE them here unless you're looking for them. They're so small on the roads here whereas these smaller cars fill up the roads in India. Aveos have been around for about 3-4 years now.

BTW went to book an Azera for a friend yesterday. Got a test drive, but the vehicle is out of stock and waiting period is 5 weeks. Ditto with Sonata, although with a smaller waiting period - ALLEGEDLY.

A2 Segment: 22,409
Thats what the sept sales on hyundai press release say. what si this A2? Santro? Did they sell 22000 santro's in sept? Even if it includes getz and santro I cant believe they sold that many. Most probably they are including the export numbers too.

Yes it includes the export figures too. The A3 segment belongs to both Accent and Verna combined which is 3887 units So that means Accent still sold 1844 units......well that figure includes exports but still....

This is a known fact some years back I was doing some freelance work for an auto magazine & when i was going through the monthly sales figures of all automotive manufacturers I just happened to ask the editor about some doubts I had. He casually remarked that Hyundai figures are always inflated & do include the export figures in the sales figures for India & hence the high sales figures.
