Mostly highline variant and white is moving well is what I was told. I saw white only today and I am truly impressed. It was too late for me to switch from blue to white.

The character lines and chrome really stand out and gives a true premium look in white.

Yet to see Tiguan on Pune roads. I happen to spot Newly registered Mercs and BMW sedans but not Tiguan.
Either people don't drive them much or its too bland and doesn't stand out in traffic.
I prefer understated looks of VW. Kind of helps if you have to park on the road side for a few hours.

A neighbor in my apartment complex got the Tiguan. Generated a bit of buzz since our apartment is typically mid segment and maxes out at Honda City/Creta levels.

Definitely very understated and unassuming. Most folks did not have a clue of the price when they saw it. Were shocked when I said it is well upward of 30L.

The proud owner had a Fabia for a very long time. So a jump across multiple segments.

Quite surprisingly, looks like it is on the way to become a decent success for VW.

I am not surprised. I get asked from my friends and family why not a BMW or Audi if you are spending over 35L. (And from wife whenever she sees a X1 on the road).
It is difficult to prove Tiguan is worth over 30L from outside. It is just a practical car from all aspects and VW has done as exceptional work in packing it that way.
That may be the reason why it sells well in Europe where Audi and BMW is just another brand.

Tiguan will find informed buyers who know what they are getting into. It is gonna be a niche market. It is rather similar to the Polo GT which is much more expensive than its peers but still finds buyers but in a different segment.

VW has been doing pretty okay in the niche they have created for themselves - and once you drive one, it is very very hard to go back to the cheaper Japanese cars again.

Tiguan did slightly better than Compass in few areas and that is a surprise.

You really wanted to switch from the blue, the white is what they are pushing me for since they have a few I believe, but I think I now like the black.

Saw one at the ITC grand central last week in Mumbai while staying there. in Tungsten silver, seem much bigger in the presence of other cars, and my wife did not even recognise it at first and thought it was one of the other 3 germans. Though she had been with me for all the test drives.

Hi - the IDV is 28.6 L - standard ex showroom price of 30.1 L minus 5% calculation.

Its good this car comes with DSG only otherwise the performance would be relatively muted in manual. The early Tiguans were criticized in some pockets for being down on outright performance due to higher kerb weight. With the DSG, it should be able to match the Compass 4*4 Manual with a 0-100 just around of 11.xx unless VW sport mode is very aggressive and Compass Manual tuning is bad.

Both Comfortline and Highline are very well loaded for a car of its price segment. Surely more premium than the last Yeti as well.

0-100 comes up in under 9.3secs in sport mode.
