Though, I still can't get around the crash video. The body panels(especially roof) crumbling and being shaken are okay. It's just the outer skin.

But the A pillar being bent??? The Etios had it's A pillar intact after the crash test

Well, until the last facelift the Corolla Altis was with just 2 airabgs and no ESC/VSC. I hope they don't go by that route for the Yaris

Even I noticed this and got me worried. Maybe, safety experts here can comment on this. A pillar crumbling doesn't inspire confidence. But, the crash rating is higher than the Etios at 5 stars.

Toyota India has unveiled the Yaris Ativ in India just ahead of the 2018 Auto Expo.

The Yaris Ativ will be launched in April 2018 in a petrol-only guise.

The Yaris looks like a mini version of the Corolla Altis and it features a well-proportioned design. The styling seems quite attractive unlike the bland Etios and it also comes with funky looking alloy wheels. On the inside, you get a dual-tone dashboard with beige treatment and the centre console features a touch-screen infotainment system. The Toyota Yaris is equipped with features like climate control AC, electrically adjustable mirrors, steering mounted audio controls but the placement of the centre AC vents are quite odd.

So it is confirmed that, we will be getting the 2018 Vios from Singapore. Is it safe to assume the specs and features will be same as the one offered in Singapore ?

I surely want to consider this as an option, so hope they price it similar to Ciaz and not City.

I just noticed some stitch pattern type marks on the dash. The dash does not look like being clad with leather or leatherette though. But why stitch marks? I even noticed similar pattern near the steering wheel area too.

I am just re-posting the zoom out photo of the area I am suggesting, any pointers?

That looks like plastic with thread pattern on it. You cannot expect more from Toyota.

+1 to that. This is definitely economy grade hard plastic. I wonder, why taking pain in creating a thread pattern. If they wanted to save on glue, staplers would have been better .

See the interest in this thread even after early unveil by them. It can become moderately successful if they price it close to Ciaz. I think they will price it similar to City but offer 7 airbags instead of 6 in City and try to justify the price tag.

God bless competition!! It will shake up the segment(or whatever left of it ) and give nightmares to City and Verna. It will definitely make Verna's 1.4L E&EX redundant. I am predicting some price correction from City later this year.
