So, theatre advertisement for Carnival have already started it seems. Had a quick view of the MPV yesterday while watching "Good Newws" movie.
Carnival MPV seems spacious enough with lots of bells and whistles, but isn't it too soon to advertise?
Also, length seemed more in Innova size category rather than the 8-10 seater category.

Often, people don't choose to make all the adults travel together even on the same flight (safety precautions), such families travelling long distance in a 10 seater on our highways is a far fetched idea and almost impractical.

Not a CBU, SKD or CKD, the Kia Carnival will be a made-in-India car.

• A few components will be imported but then the Carnival will have a high level of localisation including that of the platform.

• Manohar Bhat, VP and head of sales, marketing at Kia India, in a conversation with Express Drives confirmed that the Carnival will be made in India. As unreal as it seems, Kia India will indeed be manufacturing the Carnival in India at its Anantapur plant.

• Manohar further emphasised that the Carnival, unlike vehicles a notch lower ( Innova Crysta and Marazzo) that are built for the Asian and developing markets, is a global product. Just like the Seltos will be sold in Europe, USA, Korea as well as Australia.

• Kia India is not looking for numbers with the Carnival. The Carnival is part of a brand building exercise for Kia India, one that will further the company's perception as a maker that also produces premium vehicles. Manohar also confirmed that the Carnival will not be given to the taxi segment.

• Express Drives has also exclusively learnt that the Kia Carnival will be available in two trims - six and seven seater. The Carnival might not be sold as an eight-seater even though its dimensions might just hint at that.

Kia Carnival to launch in four variants

The lower variants will be available as eight- and nine-seaters while the two top-spec variants will be available as seven-seaters only.

The entry-level variant will be the nine-seat Carnival, the mid-spec variant will be the eight-seat model, while the seven-seat model will have two higher-spec variants.

It is only the seven-seater that will come with premium features like the Nappa leather upholstery and the rear seat entertainment package that comprises two 10.1-inch screens for the rear passengers. In addition, the top-spec variant will also be equipped with 18-inch alloys, a dual-pane sunroof, powered tailgate, keyless entry and go, wireless charging, a power-adjustable and ventilated driver’s seat and three-zone climate control. Not to mention an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Kia's in-car connectivity tech.

Kia Carnival india spec revealed!





Kia has finally revealed the Indian spec of its MPV, the Carnival.

There will be a total of three trim levels for the Kia Carnival – Premium, Prestige and Limousine. There will also be plenty of choice in terms of seating configurations – the 7-seater will be available with standard captain seats for the middle row or 'Luxury VIP' seats (with individual leg rests) available as an option. The 8-seat model will come with four captain seats, while the 9-seat model will have six captain seats, and will also be a novel offering with its four-row layout.

Under the hood is a 2.2-litre, BS6-compliant diesel engine that puts out 200hp at 3,800rpm and 440Nm of torque between 1,500-2,750rpm. The 2.2 diesel is mated to an eight-speed 'Sportsmatic' automatic gearbox

There will be a total of three trim levels for the Kia Carnival – Premium, Prestige and Limousine. At launch, expect Kia Carnival prices to start at Rs 26 lakh for the base Premium version and will exceed the Rs 30 lakh mark for the top-spec Limousine variant

That pricing of 26-30lakhs is going to give Toyota sleepless nights! With Carnival bringing so many seating options (not just sliding/folding seats!!) and coming loaded with features, i feel people who get a Toyota cause it is the last word in MUV are going to get a Carnival. And there are many many! The Seltos has already given Kia a great brand image and was the perfect first move. The Carnival is in a segment that has only 3 options as of today and all in different price range so it already has that advantage. If there was a manual gearbox variant with a sticker price couple of lakhs lower, Toyota would have really really been sweating.
