Excise/GST Rebate is only on vehicles having length < 4m with engine capacity of <1.2L (Petrol) or 1.5L (Diesel)

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

I found these performance figures for the T-GDi (120 bhp) engine which is offered in the top level trim of i20 sold in U.K.

Fuel economy is 54 mpg which translates to 22.96 kmpl. Although the methods used by the ARAI to measure fuel economy differ from those in other countries, these figures seem promising.
Let’s hope the acceleration time for the DCT are as good as the manual variant.

Being a Hyundai petrol, it will be a thirsty engine. Even though the official ratings may show 20kmpl+, I doubt if real world efficiency will anywhere near that, more likely it will give a economy of around 10 to 12kmpl

Given our traffic conditions and add the automatic transmission the realistic FE to expect would be 8-9 kmpl city and 12-13 kmpl highway.

Correction- UK gallon is different from US gallon. UK gallon is equal to 4.5461 litres, which turns out to 19.12 kmpl.

I am sure the cooler air will result in better FE in the UK.

Venue testing continues, picture taken near Shimla.

Seems this time Hyundai is putting a lot of efforts on performance and driving dynamics front.

Entry level Venue, more like a raised VW Polo hatch now. Sourced from Autocar website.

https://www.autocarindia.com/car-new...st-time-412536

Hosted in Rushlane as well, with a video link

https://www.rushlane.com/hyundai-ven...-12307048.html

Looks decent for an entry level, provided a wheel upsize or alloy. I appreciate the consistent panel gaps, as far as the picture speaks.

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

I wonder what stopped Hyundai from making this car a tad wider. People complain about the rear seats of EcoSport@1765mm... Wonder hoe Venue will fare@1700mm...
Venue is lesser in both height and width than all of its competitors.
Disappointed :|

A Baleno is more roomier and comfortable for 5 than my 2014 Fiesta which is >4mts.

Your disappointment is premature, do not go by the spec sheet. It's the clever packaging that matters. IMO, Hyundai are not stupid to make a car with space inferior to the Ecosport.

The Creta! Not much separating the 2 classes.

Any bigger and ut would swipe off a significant number from the Creta.

I actually like the fact that Venue is not trying to be something that it's not, an SUV. It's a sub-4m compact utility vehicle, which is like 2 steps below an SUV.

It gives you more than enough ground clearance to tackle Indian roads without introducing any additional body roll by keeping the height low.

Sure, this might compromise on road presence, but function over form, I guess.

Drives like a sedan, looks like an SUV, what else does one need
