So the pricing more or less matches the Santro variant to variant. That makes the new WagonR reasonably priced. Not too expensive, but not VFM either. The best thing is that you can upgrade yourself to the K12 engine by paying a small difference of 20k. It would be interesting to see and compare the sales of the 1.0 VXI and the 1.2 VXI.

The Ignis factor will be there, especially in the Delta variant. But the Ignis factor has been there since the time of the Tiago and the launch of the Santro. It definitely hasn't hampered the sales of either the Tiago or the Santro. I see no reason why the WagonR would be any different.

This is so true especially for families with senior citizens. Its the only car which allows easy ingress/egress. When I was looking to buy a car last year, I was looking only at Wagon R even though my family has one already. Later our budget expanded and I bought the brezza. Only a wagon r can replace another wagon r for.

Wow only 20K extra for 1.2L engine over the 1.0L engine. One extra cylinder is a great deal for 20K!

If the difference is just 20k for 1.2L/4 Cylinder engine, they should have avoided 1.0L IMO. Even LXi 1.2L could have been for 4.39.

The 1.0L will cater the OLA/UBER business for sure.

Something that I missed posting yesterday. The car I sat in was a lower model with a regular audio system. It was displaying the low fuel warning on its console as well as on the speedo console. This is a new feature. Maybe we get more features displayed on the audio console.

I've attached the brochure of new Wagon R with screenshot of features. What I like is 1liter bottle holders in all doors which was missing in current one. Another thing to note is that only 2 speakers are mentioned. I hope it's a typo.

I guess only the Lxi Customers will prefer 1 litre Engine. The rest will go with 1.2 litre. We should appreciate Maruti for giving an option to the Customers, than forcing them to buy, as they want.

Our fraternity as well as technically sound people will definitely prefer 1.2 litre. But there are few who think that bigger engine means less fuel consumption. Whereas a good driver can squeeze out more mileage from a bigger engine too.

Good to see that Maruti is not overcharging for 1 extra cylinder.

I was really happy to see that questions about safety was asked here - shows safety is slowly getting traction. But not happy with Maruti's response though ! For ppl who didn't watch it was the the question was about expectations on NCAP rating for this model and the response was "We adhere to Indian regulations"
