I had already tried that, all phone numbers are for mobile and are switched-off.

Called their 1800 number. They were very courteous and told me that I can book the car through the website https://www.mgmotor.co.in/tools/ebooking
You will have to choose the variant, fuel, transmission and colour and pay 50k (fully refundable). He wasnt sure what all can be modified at a later date and asked me to connect to the showroom directly.

The test drive is starting from 11th June. Any other information on pricing, delivery, etc. he couldnt share at the moment. The launch is today he confirmed, so I am sure we will get these on public forums soon.

They gave me contact of a showroom at Delhi, Moti Nagar. Spoke to the front office lady. She invited me to come over and see the 2 red top spec cars they have in the showroom. I have requested for a call back and have left my number with them to get more details. Once I have clarity on modifications allowed I will make the booking.

I am trying to get in touch with GGN showrooms near my office to see if I can go and see the car today.

Just came back from a quick visit at their Flagship Showroom in GGN, where Rajiv himself was unveiling the scheduled announcements which was to be done today at 4PM.

The showroom is just WOW, completely lives up to the British theme that they are bringing in... since it was a launch there were many people inside. The overall look and feel was top class!

The car looks great in person, will share some things that I observed later.

Wait for a couple of days, pricing will be announced. A friend of mine working as Sales Manager at MG showroom in E-city was not sure of any unveiling event in Bangalore.

What a kind of a strange marketing strategy is MG adopting. We’ve seen car launches divided in to 2 phases where there is an unveil and then a final launch. In case of MG it is first the unveil of that big touch screen, then the car, then the booking amount and the showroom and may be the pricing next. They are surely choking the initial euphoria to death with this.

Auto AC in top model only?? Seems all sensors for light, temperature, rain are only on top model, but you still have internet inside (IOT someone!)

Also the hybrid doesn't have the electric co-passenger seat because the hybrid battery will be housed under the passenger seat as per the SE.

The interior cover for the panoramic sunroof is even though electric is translucent (you could see light coming through it even when shut), was like a cheap pull-over beige window blinds that we are used to seeing in offices, don't know if someone else also noticed. The SE commented this will be fine as the sunroof have double pane glass which is coated to eliminate heat entering in the cabin. Also only the front part is openable.

Browsing through the brochure, the car seems to be all about the touchscreen and not much more. However, will reserve judgement until driven

Absolutely true. I lost interest in the pricing and stopped following the Hector Story all together. Not excited anymore !

Clicked these Pics at Mumbai airport earlier today. Display car was top of the line diesel variant. Overall looks good, road presence at par with Harrier, design wise it looks marginally narrow but bit long in comparison, like slightly dis-proportionate in terms of length.

Interior quality is very good. Was able to easily get into comfortable driving position. Touch screen is huge and again felt a bit out of proportion in terms of overall dash layout. Nonetheless will be a big attraction in our feature crazy market.

Notice anticlockwise tachometer markings, can’t visualise how the two needles will look on the go.

Clutch has short travel but is very hard, won’t be comfortable in stop-go city traffic.

Note: Ignition was off.

SA informed expected price to start from Rs 15L for base model going upto Rs 20L for top.

MG opens its first showroom in Gurgaon

MG Motor has inaugurated its first showroom in India. It is located at Milestone Experian Centre, Sector-15, Gurugram.



MG has incorporated British cultural icons like the Big Ben, the Union Jack, telephone booths and street lamps in its showroom design. In addition to MG memorabilia, the showroom also houses a 1965 MG Midget. The showroom has an LED video wall that uses a 36 connected TVs and an 'Engineering Corner' where the company's 48V hybrid powertrain is on display. The MG showroom also has a live vehicle configurator.



MG is set to launch the Hector - its first car, in India later this month and has already started accepting bookings for it. The SUV will be offered in four variants with two engine options including a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 141 BHP and 250 Nm of torque and a 2.0-litre diesel developing 168 BHP and 350 Nm of torque. A petrol-hybrid version will also be on offer. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and dual-clutch automatic.



The carmaker aims to open a network of 250 centres across India by September this year. Customers can schedule test drives for the MG Hector from June 15 onwards.
