I find the harrier much roomier than the creta, compass, may be even hector. I'm in the market and have been for a while now. I think I should just go and buy the Crysta

Woah, if this pricing happens then I am sure creta sales are going for a nose dive. Finish of Hector is definitely of a segment above Imo. Only service will be an unknown with MG

I have my doubts. They are spaced just a lakh apart, variant to variant. There is a lot of feature list addition as we go up the variants, which does not correspond to the price increase mentioned above.

I would love to be wrong though. If so, RIP to several vehicles priced +/- few lakhs at both ends.

Super over Style:
1. Reverse parking camera
2. Front parking sensors
3. Cornering lights
4. Led headlights
5. Full led taillights
6. Alloy wheels
7. Shark fin antenna
8. Cruise control
9. Ac control on head unit
10. 10.4 inch touch screen with android auto
11. Steering mounted audio controls
12. Driver/passenger vanity mirror
13. Rear parcel curtain
14. Follow-me headlights

Smart over Super:
1. Side airbags
2. Dual tone alloys
3. Tpms
4. Floating indicator
5. Chrome elements
6. i-smart features – some 17 of them
7. Leather upholstery
8. Interior led lights
9. Power driver seat
10. Push button start
11. Remote keyless smart entry
12. Folding orvm
13. Telescopic steering
14. Infinity speakers with 2 additional speakers & subwoofer

Sharp over Smart:
1. Curtain airbags
2. 360 degree camera
3. Heated orvm
4. Panoramic sunroof
5. Remote sunroof operation
6. 7 inch digital MID
7. Ambient lighting
8. Electric passenger seat adjust
9. Powered tailgate
10. Auto headlights/wipers
11. Auto AC
12. Vanity mirror light
13. Sunroof open when using all windows down function

The pricing of the diesel is 30k cheaper than the barebones TATA Harrier XE. And the top-end with panoramic sunroof etc is near 1L cheaper than Harrier XZ?

Finding it very hard to believe, but if it's true - excellent pricing indeed!

Infact, I would say the top end is well priced even close to 18L ex-showroom considering the advantages it has over Harrier.

Any hopes for a diesel automatic in the near future? A fully loaded diesel AT is possible here under 20Lakhs is possible with the above rumoured pricing.
Other than the Verna SXO, there isn't a single fully loaded Diesel AT under 20Lakhs on road!

re: MG India's first SUV named Hector. Edit: Launched @ 12.18L

Attaching the brochures below. MG Hector will be available in 4 trim levels in Petrol, Diesel, Petrol Hybrid powertrains.

Petrol: Manual will be only available in the base two trims "Style" and "Super". Automatic only in the top two "Smart" and "Sharp" trim.
Pros: 1. Lower entry price with the base manual petrol.
2. Petrol automatic available in fully loaded variant unlike others who offer automatics in a trim lower than the top most.
Cons: 1. Manual lovers can't have a fully loaded variant with all the safety features.
2. Automatic starting price point will be higher.

Diesel: Only available in manual, no automatic. But available in all 4 trims.
Pros: Available in lower priced base or middle or fully loaded, all trims as long as you want manual.
Cons: No diesel automatic (in a faraway "trail" a lost and lonely "hawk" sees some ray of hope)

Petrol Hybrid: Available in the top 3 trims and in only manual transmission.
Pros: India's first 48V hybrid SUV
Cons: Nope, no automatic here.

Let's hope it turns out to be Xiaomi or (pre ban) Huawei of cars in the long term rather than some Doogee or Kechaoda having 4 sim cards, 2 batteries, 8 cameras that lasts only 1 month.

Price notwithstanding, I had high expectations from the vehicle but came back disappointed. I will cancel the booking and will wait for the Seltos.
I saw all the video reviews on youtube of both the diesel and petrol. Most if not all said the petrol is better, there is some turbo lag, but its not that bad. I was expecting the DCT to make the drive better. So which showroom did you go to in Bangalore?

Even i believe that MG cannot price the Hector so low. Look at the equipment list for Hector and it beats the Harrier black and blue. I understand that MG is new / unknown and they need to come up with aggressive pricing but expecting them to undercut Harrier by a lakh is expecting too much. I have a feeling that Hector will be priced 50k-100k over Harrier. If they go too aggressive, then neck to neck with Harrier.

re: MG India's first SUV named Hector. Edit: Launched @ 12.18L

I have an interesting perspective after speaking to few of my friends and cousins. Majority of them like the Hector from what they have seen of it, so far. But, they are expecting it to be priced alongside Compass lest they say are convinced it would be "chinese" and not of high quality!! I haven't seen any other company facing such a dilemma 🙂

I saw a youtube video yesterday on Buzzard and 3rd row is extremely cramped. Don’t expect an adult to fit into it. Meant only for kids.

Excellent pricing, if this is what comes out tomorrow.
Very unlikely prices. 2 reasons:
  1. All prices follow a pattern (like rhyming) with 1 lakh difference and ending with .49, .99 or .69
  2. Last thing the MG brand wants to happen is being perceived as 'cheap Chinese' brand.

Depending on your source - it could also be ex-factory pricing if its someone at the dealership?

The same misunderstanding had happened earlier during the launch of the Creta. Prices dealers are informed to book their cars before launch are ex-factory pricing, and taxes need to be added to make it the ex-showroom price that we know of!

Anyways - another hour!

If the pricing turns out to be anything close to this, at 11:30 am, then Hyundai and Tata are going to have lots of sleepless nights. Launch of a fully loaded diesel automatic would've absolutely made their car bulletproof, but now Mahindra still have one USP.
