Agree. Have liked the design of the new models, especially the new Swift, looks smashing.

Maruti has actually killed the Alto design. The old Alto looked so clean compared to the new Alto 800. If the current gen Alto inspires these looks, I have my doubts.

First impressions were the KUV 100?

Totally agree on the central instrument cluster. Maruti will blunder on this, if signed off.

Isn't this production version, was expected to get a 'ZEN'-name ! IIRC.

Regarding centrally placed instrument console, if ergonomically placed it won't be a matter of much concern either.

Future S Concept car spied in Delhi.

The car will either be the new Alto or the Zen in an SUV avatar.

Visited the local Arena showroom in Kolkata and enquired about the new Alto. The salesman told me that the launch would take place soon , early May or April end. He said that the training for the new Alto was scheduled this month. I gave him my number and asked him to update me on the launch , prices etc as I'm interested in buying this for my parents.

Somehow I have a feeling that the Alto duo (800 & K-10) will co-exist with this new upcoming model.

They may position this model premium to the K-10 and retail it through NEXA (after all Nexa dealers are in Red as other than Baleno, no other model sells good numbers from the NEXA dealership)

This is just my understanding of how Maruti can offer 3 models at different price position and different sales channel.

(Though I am not sure if Alto will be able to pass the stringent safety requirement in Oct.2019, but still just an Out of the Box thinking)

The Future S based model will be an entire new offering from Maruti, but will indirectly replace the K10.

Maruti has upgraded the Alto (800) for upcoming crash test norms but the K10 hasnt seen structural changes, only cosmetic add-ons like parking sensors etc which means Maruti does not intend to sell the K10 post August this year.

Maruti S-Presso is speculated to be the Future S concept and is all set to be launched this festive season. Will take on Renault's KWID.

Quote:
S-Presso, codenamed Y1K, is powered by a one-litre petrol engine. The car will come with an automated manual transmission with ABS and dual airbags as standard. The vehicle will also have a segment leading touch screen with rear parking sensors/camera. Dual colour options will also be offered to appeal to the young buyers.

This is second major product led out of India post Vitara Brezza, which will help the Indian operation save on the royalty payment.

Everything seems alright with this product - the sweet 1.0-litre engine, tall pseudo-SUV stance and AMT option. I'll even accept the centrally-mounted meter console.

But what a freaking weird choice of name for a car! Maruti S-Presso? Does it run on coffee (and deliver north of 30 kpl )?

I mean, they have used better-sounding names in the past. Zen is one of them, just use that instead of such lame names.

That's a funny name, but might click with first time buyers. Touchscreen aint segment first for sure, Kwid has it since years. On a lighter note, hope we dont see Maruti selling the S-Presso at a Starbucks or CCD in future.

Naming a new born with resemblance to the name of an elder one - Cross and Press from the parent S. We do it all the time in our families.

On a serious note, I do not think they are going to position this at the entry level as the new Alto. If this has the presence of a mini SUV, positioning will be higher and that makes me doubtful about the existence of Ignis.

The coffee is only getting stronger (pun intended). They've brewed a Cappuccino before.

Maruti Suzuki ready to launch S- Presso in August?

The brand has sent media invites for the third week of August and it could be for the S-Presso or the six-seater Ertiga Cross ?
