Not sure how it will affect Feista D. I remember reading, Feista will be given 1.6 TDCi when Fusion gets its 1.4TDCi. If they can make sure Fusion is solid and reliable like Ikon on indian roads with of course with improved A.S.S, they have a sure winner.

But, Ford and good A.S.S never goes in one sentence unless its for -ve mention! :-)

You may have your own reasons for this statement, no doubt, but as of now, i own a Ford, and my experiences so far have been good. Looks like one cannot generalize JLT.

If the Fusion D comes at 6 or max 6.5 ON ROAD, then only it makes sense...I would love to buy it then...anything beyond that, I always have the TAVERA then

Ford India is making the Ford Fusion little smalled to meet the 4mts regulation to get SMALL CAR BENIFITS, which means it will cost lesser for the customers.

Personally I find it hard to believe that Ford would have modified the design to fit inside the 4000 mm regulations. Is it that easy without a big investment ?

A big investment would only make sense if Ford are sure to hit a home run with the diesel Fusion, since the Fusion in Europe is up for replacement next year and the current one has not exactly set the sales chart on fire, it is a steady seller no more.

Not too hard not too easy as well. The fusion falls short of just 18 MM and its not too difficult to redesign the bumper. So lets see, how ford does it.

This will be one interesting car, I feel. At 6 - 6.5 Lacs, it is a very good bargain considering that you pay for Swift Diesel 5.5 Lacs, and you do not get a boot. I feel if priced right & Fuel Economy being close to Fiesta, this car will be a nightmare for many manufacturers.

Waiting for the launch now !!!

July's ACI says that Ford is cutting around 25mm from Fusion's length to get it into the small car range. This will apparently be done just by modifying the bumpers. I do not think this can be a huge investment. Case in point being the Palio Stile. Earlier Palio's length was around 37++ and now it has increased by almost 50-60mm and the only change I see is the bumpers (both front and rear).

This isnt the first time they are fiddling with the bumpers, so shouldnt be all that difficult for them, i guess.

Got a call from my local Ford dealer as I had made enquiries on internet for Fusion and Fiesta. She said Fusion Diesel will be launched in SEPTEMBER and will call me nearer the time to see if interested. Sorry, no prices available yet.
