When is Mahindra launching the Scorpio Eagle 2.2?....EDIT Now Launched

the vlx will be in manual transmission only . We can expect the auto box to come only next year.

Just checked the Mahindra scorpio website.... There is a flash announcing 'Coming Soon' - m Hawk.

This could mean that the launch is nearby. hopefully

As per sireesh auto at B'lore, launch during 2nd week of Dec. Eagle is in the "VLX" model, OTR b'lore @ 12 - 12.5L

This has dashed my hope of buying it as I am limited under the 10L bracket. Also as far as the shell size goes, no changes onto it, meaning it will still continue to have a crumped leg room at the middle row.

Yes, there are lot more tech goodies added onto it.

The engine is 120bhp(detuned from 140).
So can we conclude its very similar(or same) as the safari DICOR engine?

mahindra is having a press conference tomorrow in Mumbai. To be addressed by Pawan Goenka, president, automotive business at M&M. The invite says "to witness the perfect synergy of technology & innovation transform the SUV segment"
Perhaps this is it, eh?

12.5 is wayyy to much for a Scorpio. Is this model 4X4?

Sir @extreme torque

It is only 4x2....no 4x4 now, may be in future.....I still feel safari @8.5L entry price is a better vehicle anytime/ anyday for the pricing they offer.

I suppose M&M should have had "hawk" at the entry level too. There are lot many customers, like me, who will not be able to hit above the 10L mark.

Who in their right mind will pay that much for a Scorpio ?

If that is their pricing strategy then they can kiss goodbye to this vehicle repeating the success of the current Scorpio.

I have short listed to Innova and Scorpio.
More than six months I am waiting for S2.2 , and if the price is 12.5 as you, my Clear choice is Innova top end. Let me see if M&M can make decision easy!

may be it is not replacement of scorpio but all together a new vehicle for the segment higher than scorpio..

But if the body is similar to the present Scorpio then how will be cater to a segment higher than Scorpio ??. I believe the performance must have improved and it has more features, but with tata only charing in range of 30-40k extra for an engine churning out 140 bhp how far is this huge increase justified for just 5 bhp increase ??

Latest news : VLX pricing is 11.4 OTR(bang). the new features added are:
ABS
CRUISE CONTROL
HEADLIGHT AND WIPER SENSOR
REVERSE PARKING SENSOR
NEW COLOR:JAVA BROWN(i dont know how it will look like.

ALLOY WHEELS
MUSIC CONTROLS ON STEARING
SCOOP WILL BE WORKING FOR THE NEW MODEL

The middle row they have an option to change it to bucket seats as it can be done in an innova.

NO AIR BAGS
NO automatic transmission as of now.
Launch date is 4th or 5th dec in bangalore
