This is intended in a lighter vein. Don’t take it too seriously and make a noise. These were sent by some friends. And they were quite funny hence sharing.

Re: Toyota Hilux launched at Rs. 33.99 lakh

Was considering the Hilux but tired of waiting now. Any educated guesses on when the Hilux will be available? Seems like v-cross is the only option to buy (there is always a risk that waiting too long may bring the options down from the current 1 to 0 instead of the hopeful 2). Is there any hope of news in the next month or so? I have a trip planning during Feb/Mar 2023 and need to decide soon.

Toyota doesn’t want to sell Hilux? or is Toyota unable to sell Hilux?

It's interesting that Indians don’t want expensive, lifestyle-oriented pickup trucks. The modern Thar is a better product solution for a customer segment looking for a lifestyle-oriented vehicle with an outdoorsy and rugged image, yet having city-friendly credentials over a giant utilitarian pickup truck.

Both the Toyota Hilux and the AK47 have that indestructible reputation.

Re: Toyota Hilux launched at Rs. 33.99 lakh

Great to see Hilux pics and discussion! I've had the Automatic Isuzu VCross for the past 3 yrs, and totally loving it. The best thing I like about it is, I can go anywhere in India - regardless of roads or lack of roads. And in spite of its length, I am totally comfortable driving in city traffic and in small towns. I'm sure the Hilux will be awesome too. Enjoy your very capable and fun vehicle!

TBHP Hilux Goa meetup

It was awesome catching up with you / dhruvmalik (and the better halves) to hit some trails. He's done some excellent DIY mods to his car (horn + waterproof tonneau cover + tailgate lock + supplementary organge LEDs in front).

Next stop Uttarakhand soon!

Jeremy and co destroying a Toyota Hilux. (Old model now, of course.)
Top Gear series 3, episode 5.

Haven't been following this thread, so pardon me if this is a repeat. Did a quick search for Top Gear and didn't find it on the thread; a must-see for those who haven't, and have some interest in the Toyota Hilux.

l]

That was a great video. I remember seeing the epsiode on TV when we still used to get BBC TV on cable/ sat dish. I just felt sad for that poor ill-used Hilux. But it proved a strong point ref its ‘indestructible nature’.

What lovely photos! Really nice to see this cult vehicle being put through its paces! And TWO is always better than just ONE!

Lovely colours and the scenery in that place is fantastic! I love that photo showing the TOYOTA badging on the rear tailgate. Makes one immediately want to leap into the 4x4 and buzz off into the Wide Blue Yonder!

The lure of the Great Outdoors is mesmerisingly intoxicating, especially for those who, like most of us, are condemned to the burdensome and irksome drudgery and purgatory of peering perpetually at computer or tablet screens, holding endless and dreadful video meetings and reviews, sitting amidst a sea of desks and a motley crowd of humanity, under harsh and clinical strip-lighting!

Thats probably why whenever an opportunity presents itself, it just feels so good to reclaim one’s life - by taking a drive - not necessarily only in a Tata Safari (as per that old ad) or if one were to be so lucky, a Toyota Hilux, but in any vehicle that takes one’s fancy!

And this is also very probably why the whole ‘lifestyle vehicle’ concept is slowly maturing here in India.

Watched a bit of it, there was just one puzzle all through.

And I found the answer:

If Topgear destroyed the Hilux check these next 4 videos

And a durability test on the latest iteration of the Hilux as well:

Quite ironic now that these diesel beasts are being unreliable due to DPF Failures in their BS6 iteration. BS4 Diesels were the golden era of diesels.

Couldn't agree with you more. To quote Julius Evola:

“If there ever was a civilization of slaves on a grand scale, the one in which we are living is it. No traditional civilization ever saw such great masses of people condemned to perform shallow, impersonal, automatic jobs. This slavery is imposed subtly through the tyranny of the economic factor and through the absurd structures of a more or less collectivized society.”

Hey Clayton, your state is stunning for sure! This was on the route from Lutolim to Verna Industrial Estate. Have you been there?

No, I haven't. Being from the north, I rarely go to the south. But I'm definitely going to check out this location soon!
