Re: Tata Safari facelift spotted testing in Indore

The steering wheel gives off Land Rover Defender vibes more than Sierra vibes.

Here's a pic for reference

Re: Tata Safari facelift spotted testing in Indore

Eventually, Safari prices will go too close to the Fortuner gang someday in the future after all these upgrades. But if that air con interface is similar to the ones on Land Rovers, it will seriously increase the premium looks of the cabin. Would look to see the final looks once the facelift is launched.

Re: Tata Safari facelift spotted testing in Indore

Kudos to Tata for bringing regular updates to Harrier and Safari. Even without a facelift, the current Safari is very different from how it was during the launch. Now with this facelift, it seems Tata is planning to bring even bigger upgrades.

Re: Tata Safari facelift spotted testing in Indore

This steering looks like that of the Landrover Defender steering and if I remember correctly, someone mentioned that even the gear lever will be picked up from the JLR group. Nice Safari Surprise awaited.

Re: Tata Safari facelift spotted testing in Indore

Happy to see Tata making such premium interiors!! Looks so rich. The steering is giving Defender vibes.
It’ll be great if they could also improve the quality of the indicator and wiper stalks. Also, the area that protrudes and interferes with the driver's left knee!

But, more importantly, the SUV has a new design steering wheel first seen on the Sierra EV Concept.
Dual tone interiors, Defender inspired steering wheel, newer infotainment, jeweled drive mode selector and what not...... TaMo seems to have heavily reworked the interiors on this facelift. Hope they keep the fit and finish consistent tho.

The steering wheel looks like a production version of Avinya's wheel.

Re: Tata Safari facelift spotted testing in Indore

Unlike exterior, interior looks heavily facelifted and premium too (bits and pieces carried from JLR). Wish Tata focus on the QC and fit & finish of the production model to make it niggle free. My swift is going to complete 10 years in Jan'24. Looking for an upgrade to 7 seater Safari/XUV700 and waiting for the launch in Sep/Oct timeframe. If Safari launch disappoint me, will go ahead with booking of XUV700.

Tata Safari facelift spied with new 5-spoke alloy wheels

A test mule of the Tata Safari facelift has been spotted once again. This time, the SUV was seen sporting new 5-spoke alloy wheels.

The new alloy wheels feature a Y-spoke design and five lugs. We can't say for sure if these are of the dual-tone variety though.

The spy images also reveal a sleeker-looking grille with LED daytime running lights on either side, redesigned headlamp pods and dynamic turn indicators. The SUV could also get new tail lamp clusters connected by an LED light bar.

The upcoming Safari will also get a revamped interior. Recent spy images have revealed a redesigned dashboard with a large touchscreen infotainment system, a new climate control module and a new design steering wheel similar to the Sierra EV Concept.

These alloys match with the design of Sierra EV alloys.

Re: Tata Safari facelift spotted testing in Indore

Not sure how many of you noticed this, but the video referred to above also clearly shows paddle shifters. Does that mean that the petrol engine is indeed coming with this facelift?

Re: Tata Safari facelift spotted testing in Indore

Going by Tata's execution history, I am going to reserve my opinion. Safari / Harrier twins certainly are due for a revamp with 7OO / Scorpio's runaway success mounting pressure on Tata.

Alloys design reminds me of the alloys from Punto Abarth, the scorpion design, they call?

What I would like to see is:

- Better execution in terms of engine refinement for Petrol, if at all they're launching it. I hope they won't make it a NA-petrol with a manual at launch and later add Turbo + DCT depending on the demand, which they did with Altroz. Shouldn't be a half-baked / half-hearted attempt at that VS Mahindra's powerhouse mStallion range!

- They should move away from Fiat sourced engine, Hyundai sourced Gearbox - albeit I know they are nice but doesnt quite add upto being called Indian made, like quite literal sense. Would like to see indigenous engines and transmission for an Indian made car although a long shot, just hoping one day Tata made indigenous diesel or the Varicor's return, which is unlikely considering Diesels are a dying breed as we speak.

Clicked these pictures between Leh and Sonamarg on June first week. This was last of 4-5 car convoy heading towards Leh.

Eagerly waiting for the Harrier facelift with 2 hopes:
1. They bring the much speculated petrol engine and wishing for it to be a fuss free, reliable engine.

2. The interior spied on Safari here are the same updates that are going to be brought to Harrier as the Harrier facelift has not been spied much.

Hoping these facelifts come soon.

Hopefully not, atleast not in Harrier which is already around 225 kgs less in weight than XUV 700 petrol. Safari in the current diesel version is also lighter than XUV 700 petrol. With the new petrol engine, both Safari and Harrier are expected to be lighter than their current diesel versions. And with the expected power of petrol engine to be almost similar to current Fiat sourced diesel engine(~170 hp), the power to weight ratio should be better than the current diesel counterparts.
So hopefully, if the upcoming petrol engine turns out to be as portrayed, power should not be an issue.🤞🏾
