Tata Motors came to the 2023 Auto Expo with all guns blazing. The carmaker unveiled plenty of EVs and concepts, along with a few CNG offerings as well.

Here's how the Tata Motors pavilion looked for the attendees.

Tata Harrier.EV

The near-production-ready version of the Harrier.EV was unveiled at the Expo. The Harrier.EV is said to be part of the brand's Gen 2 EV architecture with the Omega platform and comes with plenty of new features and tech. This includes AWD, dual-motor setup, edge computing & cloud-connected telematics; among others.

The front showcases a closed body-coloured panel with four horizontal slats. The car also gets updated LED headlamps



The side is mostly identical to the standard model. However, the new alloy wheels and the '.EV' badge are the differentiating factors.

The rear gets an updated LED tail light design, much sleeker than on the standard model. Both the headlamps & tail lights are connected end-to-end.

Tata Sierra.EV

Tata Motors brought back the Sierra.EV to the Auto Expo, creating quite an uproar among the crowd.

The Sierra.EV seems to be more production-ready than the model showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. However, the proportions of the SUV does seem to have changed slightly.



The rear gets a thin LED strip, a roof-integrated spoiler and silver scuff plates on the bumper.

Tata Curvv Concept

The concept showcases a coupe-like styling - the production version of which is slated to be unveiled in 2024.

A new front-end styling with a thin LED light strip on top and the main headlamps positioned on the bumper below.



The highly-raked rear windscreen ends with a LED light bar connecting the tail lights on either end.

Interiors have a black and red theme. Even the pillars and roof liner are red.



Legroom is lacking in the rear. Looks like the sloping roofline has compromised space.

Tata Avinya Concept Images

The Avinya concept made its public debut at the 2023 Auto Expo.

The Avinya concept previews the Gen 3 architecture for Tata Motors, signalling the arrival of a new breed of EVs from the brand. The car will be introduced in 2025.

The wheelbase has been stretched right to the edges, with little to know overhangs at both ends.

Tata iCNG Range

Tata Motors expanded its iCNG range with the new Altroz iCNG and Punch iCNG. Both cars, however, are said to feature India's first twin-cylinder CNG technology.

By placing two small cylinders under the boot floor, instead of one large tank in the boot - Tata Motors has been able to provide usable boot space on both these cars.

Tata Racer

Tata Motors also displayed a 'Racer' version of its Altroz premium hatchback, featuring plenty of sporty add-ons and a new paint scheme.

While Tata hasn't revealed any specifications yet, the company did mention that two new direct-injection petrol engines are being readied for unveil (1.2L & 1.5L). This hopefully translates to the Racer trim of the Altroz being more than just a sticker job.

The Altroz Racer gets a sporty Red exterior with a Black bonnet & roof, along with dual racing stripes.



There is also a roof-integrated spoiler finished in Black



There is no chrome anywhere on the hatchback, with the door handles finished in body colour.



The interiors get contrasting Red & White stripes on the seats and Red accents around the AC vents.



The rear seats also carry forward the contrast stripes.



The alloy wheels are also finished in Black with Silver calipers.

Tata Tiago.EV with Sporty Add-ons

Tata Motors also showcased some sporty accessories and add-on kits to its Tiago.EV offering.

The 120PS engine on the Altroz sounds promising. Finally, it won't be underwhelming. But the exterior of the showcase car is disappointing. I had hoped that the headlamp cluster would be updated and the tail lamps would be fully LED by now but doesn't seem to be happening.

And the edition name, RACER, ugh. Seems like something a 7 year old me would come up with. The racing stripes themselves don't go well with just being on the bonnet.

On the plus side, the infotainment looks slick, so does the instrument cluster. The sunroof would bring feature parity and is a good to have I guess.

Ugh, I was waiting for this expo to get some news on the Altroz, as I had been eyeing it for a while now, but the name itself is a no go for me. I can't say it with a straight face if someone asks.

On the ICE, new petrol engines from Tata Motors. The turbocharged direct injection petrols are here. 1.2-litre 3-cylinder & 1.5-litre 4-cylinder.

The Curvv looks so good in this red colour! Love the design
Still not sure about the Sierra front end. Hope it looks better with conventional grille and headlights.
Also, as both the Sierra and Curvv will be launched in ICE as well as EV formats, Tata will now have 2 cars in the Creta segment in the next 2 years. How are they going to place these in their lineup?
