Highway - 16-21kmpl

Innova Petrol :
City - Haven't checked
Highway - 13-15kmpl (might do better on expressways).

Shan2nu, under what driving conditions (speed, a/c etc) does the Vtec return 21kmpl on highways ?

I got this figure between Hubli-Blore a few years ago. Speed was around 80-90kmph. But, that was before the expressway was built.

A year ago i drove from Blore to Hubli, with speeds between 100-140kmph. It gave us 18.6kmpl. So next time i wanna drive it at around 80-100 and see what i can get.

Impressive figure from a C-segmenter. The only time I saw 20-23kmpl kind of FE on highways was with our M800. BTW, was this with a/c on or off ?

Biju doesnt give up doesnt he..LOL

Biju most modern cars give 20+ if driven in 80-100 kph range with sedate accelaration and minimal braking..whether it be petrol or diesel!

I have never seen such mileage figures in my OHC !! best ever was 14 in Kerala highways -

after the FFE and tyre upgrade - best ever was 12.5

Damn ! OHC is not a modern car i guess

I never said they don't. And neither am I disbelieving Shan2nu's figures. Just trying to understand his driving conditions and hopefully try it on my car once. But I have never been able to drive at 80-100 when I am on the highways.

narayan, I am sure your car would also return such FE. Though the caveat here is "sticking to 80kmph" along with sedate acceleration, avoiding braking by anticipating slowdowns etc. All of which take enormous patience and discipline.

And with an FFE, I think we tend to accelerate just to hear the exhaust note, which could be a reason for FE going down.

I got 12.5 on Chennai Blore highway - sticking to 80-100 all thru the trip, 60-70% A/C usage

what did they put beneath the hood in my car ??
