Infractions: 0/1 (5)

I was in dubai last week and got to use a Fortuner for a day. It was the 2.7 Liter VVTI Petrol engine with the 4-Speed autobox.

I was really impressed by how comfy, spacious and practical the interiors were. The front and middle row seats are excellent and the third row seat is far better than the front facing third row seats offered on the Pajero 2.8 and the Endeavour. The ride was excellent due to the coil spring rear suspension. I think this vehicle will be a winner if they price it competitively with the Endeavour and Pajero 2.8. I hope they launch it soon. It's a pity that Toyota is letting Ford and Mitsubishi eat it's SUV lunch in India !!

i have waited 4.5 years for this piece of crap to come out and it didnt,I just like to say that some people get awfully excited about this and i had that coming every year when someone starts giving out crap its coming out this september ,next june ,end of this year, start of next year all carp. Just dont fall for it
P.S: Even if this thing comes out its not worth it cause look around how the car levels are changing by the time fortuner comes out we will be driving tyreless cars

abhinav,

Your pictures do not do the fortuner any justice.

Post some pictures of a side on view and it looks a lot more butch than the CRV.

The following site has some side on pictures.

No one exports more Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Hilux Vigo than Soni Motors!

Mate, no offence meant here, but from whatever you have written in your 3-odd posts on this thread, I am forced to ask this Q - don't take this personally - have you always been like this - cynical, critical, skeptical - or are you trying to cover up something?

I think he really loves the Fortuner but is fed up of waiting. He would rather his dad bought an SUV now than wait for the Fortuner. Don't blame him really as the new CR-V looks good as well. The only problem is they have yet to release a diesel version of the CR-V.

Currently the production capacity at the plant at Bidadi is about 60000 units running at full capacity. They are producing about 4000-4500 units a month that translates to 48000-54000 units and the rest is taken up by the Corolla.

The corolla assembly line will be moved to the small car plant adjacent to the current one. Then there is a capacity free up at the existing one. This will happen only in mid 2009.

Toyota is slow, very slow in launching a product, but when they do launch it, they ensure every other car maker will run for cover.
