The Sonata, in particular, has horrid ride quality on the highways. It is damn "wallowy" and "soft". You literally feel sea sick on the back seat.

Also, I think its a good thing to revive old topics which had great discussions that the newer BHPians may have missed out on.

The worst i hav driven till date is Santro Xing,Conti,Amby,800.
The worst part about the Santro is its Accelator pedal which is very odd(position).I got a sprain after i drove for around 200 kms in my frenz car.

Tata Indigo petrol - was forced to drive one for 1.5 years...horrible, traumatising experience. Will never buy Tata again.

Tata Safari (several years ago). It was just too slow from a stop start at lights. DICOR has probably sorted this out.

Old ambassador Mk 11 converted to Mk IV and then transplanted with Matador diesel w/ original gearbox and column shift. It used to grind into gear. But seriously it didnt bother me that much.

Tata Indica. The car just refuses to move. gear-shift is pathetic, interiors suck.

It has to be the Omni - pathetic power, too much noise and vibrations in the cabin, rotten-rotten-rotten suspension and one can feel the heat on the seat of ones pants

I once drove my cousins Palio without P/S in the crowded streets of CP and old delhi - believe me, it is a real nightmare to steer, and with that huge turning radius and cramped footwell - my feet, hands and shoulders were aching horribly after the drive - not to mention a splitting headache. The car is great to drive elsewhere, especially on open highways - but old delhi is not the place where I would like to take it.

Premier Padmini! It is only marginally better than the Fiat 1100!

I find it surprising that so many people think the Santro Xing is a bad drive.

The indica is more like a taxi build quality anyways, and is built for the taxi wallahs, so, easy enough to understand that.. But, given the number of educated/choice holding people buying a Santro, it does sound odd..
