Hi Ranc,

It was camouflaged. That could be a possible reason for it to look bigger. Further I have mentioned that it looks as big as the innova. Let's just wait for a couple of more dates and everything should be clear.

Any Mahindra insiders who have clicked it without the covers?

this is about the same size as the innova. same sort of camo vehicle that i saw some time back in bangalore but wasnt able to photograph. roof rails look similar to the scorp. and the wheel size looks quite similar to either bolero or scorp.
nice photo anjan. well done!

Ajnagpur

Thats a scoop, so it is going to be launched soon, can you find out when, ended up talking to the loacl dealer and he said end of august and the deliveries start from September.

Also about the big and small issue the car in the mailer doesnt look as big as a Innova (which is good, to me Innova never seems to end), another thing that I noticed is the tyres dont look small and thin, they rather look pretty chunky.

I hope the "Ingenio" doesn't turn to be another Soviet-era contraption like the Scorpio , dug up i am sure from an abandoned socialist automobile plant. Going by Mahindra Motor's track record, i wouldn't be surprised!. Especially, since the Scorpio now looks like an old lady with over the top make-up.How hard could they have tried to make it look uglier than it already was?.I am really apprehensive about this new car , till i see it.

Nick, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder (beer holder). To me Scorp looks macho and I feel the design, the quality, the engine was path braking. It might have become dated with age, I guess it has been around for 6 years now.

Design

I have gone throught that carwale.com link.

They say that the front grill is like Scorpio & in those pictures looking at the outline, the vehicle doesnt seem to have much radical design.

IMO Ingenio looks like out of competition when compared to the outlines of Innova, Indicruz.

Whats the Great design behind it, when one can imaging how it is going to look like. To be me it gives an impression that it will look like Sumo Grande. :-)

Seems like the car is being tested in Mumbai currently. The potholed roads afterall are a good testing ground

Spotted it at around 9am at bandstand today.

The Ingenio seems to have the grille similar to the Lexus RX300 with the headlights being similar to the Scorpio in design. Looks like the Ingenio and the new Innova maybe launched together. Will be a tough competition, but am sure the Innova will beat the Ingenio.

Very true. For that matter, it is quite difficult to beat any Japanese car company to be beaten up in terms of quality (MSIL being the exception - Rattling issues).

Black cloth covered car (possibly mahindra)

I saw a heavily covered car on LBS road early morning on Friday, 8th August. This was quite near the Gandhinagar junction, so I am assuming that the car was being driven towards Powai (quite less likely because of traffic snarls there) or towards the highway (quite possible)

The body was looking like a Scorpio and I managed to see the taillights (the same one that Scorpio has). Is there any new scorpio in the making?

Sorry, I was not able to take any pics though.

Ingenio Launch ?

Hi All,

Any inside news on the launch date.

I was all set to book the Scorpio Vlx this week end, despite the family reservations who have a tilt towards the Innova which I certainly do not like.

If the launch is imminent in a month or so then I will wait before taking the final decision.
