I heard In Karnataka Fuel prices will dip slightly now.

Petrol: 1.35 paisa less
Deisel: 65 paisa less
LPG cylinder: 10 rs less.

State governmant wanted coordination from centre but since both are opposite parties there will be tug of war always as usual. So decrease is only 50% of whats proposed.

Its better than worst situation I hope.

Regards,

Ravi.

a very popular move by Yeddy, will start blowing trumpets over this now.

Personally I feel, he's done the best he could, under the circumstances. Particularly when the center is against it.

cheers:

Done. So today its effective in karnataka. BJP has reduced the price as expected. But still its expensive than anyother place. Anyway a good start.
Govt also mentions that Karnataka gets fuel at higher rate than other states. Not sure why?

I was expecting a further dip/reduction in prices. This hardly makes a difference @ Rs 1.35 per litre, as per TOI. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for the BJP to blow their trumpets over this so-called achievement.

Why can't we have uniform issue price in the whole of India ? Aren't we a single country ? Karnataka has a refinery, a port, closer to chennai and still costlier issue price than Delhi.

Agreed. Seems karnataka has been paying the highest price for oil for decades. Not sure what would be the reason. Hope BJP will talk with center to get reduced price.

MRPL does not supply diesel/petrol to BLR.
Moreover the state charges entry tax to petrol/diesel aparts from myriad of other taxes.

Whatever the state charges is amplified by the issue price

Wats big deal in reducing the price by 1.3X ?

We have already hit a high of Rs.5/- on Patrol.

I dont belive BJP has done so far something great or anything new, as the sales tax on fuel have been reduced across all the states after the recent price hike!

If we pay the same / similar price paid in Delhi, Chennai, Kolkatta or Mumbai for fuels, than thats appriciation for govt. in force from my side!

This morning I bought Rs100 worth of petrol for my bike @ 58.50 with a paper stuck on the unit price showing 57.15. so what was pumped in was only 1.71. giving the attendent a net profit of Rs 2.27. so when they fill for 10000k a sweet profit of Rs 227.

@ an average 10 cars a hour, hes looking at a profit of Rs. 227 every hour
These guys look for every opportunity to make a quick buck.

After irritating him, he gives me 1 Re back. felt like throwing it back at him.

One question I had is how do they price the entire stock.

If they had say 15000 Liters on 19th morning.
Sold 5000 liters @ 58.50
20th morning the stock starts selling for 57.15 and they sell another 5000 liters

I am sure they would try and pass off just 2000 liters sold on 19th and 8000 liters sold on 20th, unless there were some checks in place.

As for Yeddy AKA BSY, strange for him to do this after elections. either way, 1.35 per liter would not make me sleep any more peacefully tonight.

why should there be any rollback there?
after all Delhi and other Union Territories are paying the least price for Fuel anyway!
The sooner they implement a common MRP system for Fuel across the country the better!

Got to know today that even in China they charge a equivalent of $3.83 to a U.S gallon. They increased the prices yesterday.

Because the roll back was a state issue - the cut affects the state Budget; all Congress states were specifically asked by Sonia Gandhi to reduce the state levies on fuel. Delhi is a Congress state
