I feel this should be in the segment competing the swift and i 10. Hope they do the pricing right and offer same kinda service offers like on spark.

Hi friends,

Saw this car parked upclose at Shriram vada on Bangalore Highway may be the top end model though it didnt had any alloys. The interior quality is close to fantastic, with very well appointed interiors. Beautiful car very close to concept model. But it should compete with A star beacuse size wise it is in that league. It also had a GM official who was not very keen to answer any quiries.

Sorry folks didnt carry any camera & my mobile photos have corrupted.

Hey I heard/read somewhere that Ritz( Splash) and Chevy Beat are based on the same platform as they were jointly developed by GM and Suzuki. Can someone comfirm if its true.

I don't think so wheelwake. The Ritz platform was developed by Suzuki and Opel and is used in another Opel car called the Agila but the Beat doesn't share it AFAIK.

If they make GM beat on sale now, it would really beat maruti's equivalent and hyundai too, With Transformers 2 movie gave good Ad for beat, its a positive campaign for GM. its a cute car, and it looks futuristic, i like beat in 'revenge of fallen'.

Like the Ritz, the Beat will have a great frontal road presence! That high bonnet and large lights look great IMHO. The side and rear is quite new age and will have to grow on people :-).

Road presence DOES make a difference in India. Observe a Ritz and a i10 head-on. The latter looks like a wimp!

Looks futuristic and different currently cannot compare it with any other vehicle on Indian roads, Ritz can be the closest for comparing.

It has lot of muscle and look angry. I think it can be a popular car with young professionals if the car is priced correctly.

I know GM is nowadays very conscious about FE of there vehicles and they better know it as its a make or break situation for them.

The high body line on the rear will make people complain the same way as they do about the Swift.. claustrophobia.
