UK: Uttarnchal or Uttarakhand

Unofficial registrations have sprung up in several states that are demanding autonomy. Here is how the number plate has now become a symbol of politcal protest.

For gorkhaland

For telangana:

Is this even legal? I mean, sure they want to rebel, but are these reg plates being issued buy the RTO themselves?? If so that is wayy sad.

For running registration numbers in Tamilnadu, use the following link:
Transport...Driving_LLicense_Edit_Confirm_List_Pag e

This is very useful for people (like me) who are waiting for a specific number in a series in knowing the current running number.

Guys, I noticed a very funny number plate yesterday. The number started with "GJW" Anyone know where that is from?

EDIT: Found the details. It is a temporary registration for Gujrat!

GJ stands for Gujarat. So perhaps GJW belongs to Gujarat too.

Gents,
Your assistance please.
Over the last few years many strange Indian, Andaman Nicobar, Lakshadeep and Jammu Kashmir plates have been sold on Ebay. All are unused and are in various languages. Some are for private vehicles, some commercial and some for motorcycles. I am pretty sure that some of the vehicle class letters are wrong for the type of plate it is.
I am wondering if anyone has ever seen any of this design of plate actually in use on a vehicle on the roads of India, anywhere. Or are they just flight of fancy at some plate shop somewhere? Maybe in Tamil Nadu?
Many thanks
Cedric

I recently saw an Innova with a number UBS 0000XXX. To which state does this belong to?

No its not legal. Its the unity of the people throughout the district of Darjeeling to run those plates. I am not get political here but BHpains who have visited my hometown may have seen the condition of road and civic thingy. Its not a way to keep a most desirable place in India that way. Hence the protest.

GJW is gujarat RTO's way of giving temporary registration. You can travel all over india on it. Unlike other temp issued by manufacturer.
