These prices are already on-road, BANGALORE! It is the upper limit for the price. It would be way cheaper elsewhere.

(There is a 1 - 1.5 L difference for C/C+ segment cars) - Probably the difference would be 50-60K less in other places for this segment.

Contrary to all the claims and speculations, I just called VW dealer in Bangalore to confirm the pricing for 1.6 petrol. It is only 6.5 Lakhs on-Road.

You can call at 080-41506972 and confirm if you would like.

Thanks for the info. I was planning to go to VW with the hope of checking out the car and getting pricing info.

Best is to wait and watch.

I just took Ex-Show room prices mentioned by Sidindica for Delhi and calculated for on road prices for Bangalore. Because I know in Bangalore road tax is at a whopping 14.3% and insurance approximately at 2.9% thou it varies. So below numbers should give a fair idea on the pricing front. Ofcourse ex show room for Bangalore will not be same as in Delhi.

Ex Showroom Insurance approx @2.9% Road Tax Bangalore @ 14.3% Handling Charges Ex Warranty On Road Prices
1.2 petrol trendline 434,000 12586 62062 5000 5000 518,648
1.2 petrol comfortline 483,000 14007 69069 5000 5000 576,076
1.2 petrol highline 570,000 16530 81510 5000 5000 678,040
1.6 petrol highline 604,000 17516 86372 5000 5000 717,888
1.2 diesel trendline 499,000 14471 71357 5000 5000 594,828
1.2 diesel comfortline 549,000 15921 78507 5000 5000 653,428
1.2 diesel highline 639,000 18531 91377 5000 5000 758,908

I think the prices are with in the expected range. During the launch of the Polo at the Auto show everybody expected it to be in the range of 4.5 to 6 lakhs (As we can see in the Auto 2010 threads). But for that price if you are getting a German build Tank, then I think you shouldn't mind. Provided the 1.2 liter diesel should be able to match the competition of Swift / Punto. If I go by the figures of torque, I expect that it should be fairly good engine at 185Nm. So we can cross our fingers till we get the test report by GTO.

From where are we getting these prices ? Just seconds back I called up Elite Motors in Bangalore and they informed that the launch will be in 1st week of March. Also they are not giving any pricing details ( not sure whether intentional or they don't really know it ) .

I have to say, ACI was bang on! Launched @ 4.34 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. However, while they got the base variant right, the other variants are priced higher. Substantially so in some cases.

KILLER pricing. VW wants volumes and the pricing only reflects that. In a segment dominated by the Japs, Koreans and Indians (in that order), pricing is key. In a way, I'm glad that the B+ segment is so competitive. The Chevy Beat was well-priced from the start, so is the Polo and as will be the Figo.

All the better for us customers, wot?

1.2 petrol trendline- 4,34,000
1.2 petrol comfortline- 4,83,000
1.2 petrol highline- 5,72,000

1.2 diesel trendline- 5,32,000
1.2 diesel comfortline- 5,81,000
1.2 diesel highline- 6,70,000

No info on the 1.6 Petrol. Petrol deliveries start 8th of March, Diesel only in May.
