Awesome prices.

I am worried about 2 things.
Wait Time Polo wait time is 3 months at Chennai. No idea what it will be for Vento.

Service/ Ownership cost Having seen the A** of Skoda. Will the spares of Vento be as expensive Skoda cars? Any idea what is the %age split of locally manufactured vs imported parts used in Vento? Can Polo owners throw some light on their hatch?

Even the trendline comes with all the basic features - reach rake adjustable steering, all four power windows and a rear de-fogger.

Seems like ABS is not available in Trendline model .... this would have made the varient even better if it were to be included in the package

6 pages and 77 replies in less than 12 hours of thread start time!!

Perfectly justifies why BHPians are called "Car enthusiasts".

This shows seriousness of VW in Indian market. But with such killer pricing, sales of Polos will be affected due to cannibalisation.

The prices are great news for a car buyer in that category however with VW 's not so fast production capability and a high waiting period for the mass market cars like the polo wonder how much market share these guys will be acutully able to capture. Its not just about pricing a product right,it's also about the delivering the product on time.

Ah this is great news. I seriously want VW to do well. No offense to owners, but hasn't Honda been dominating the market for almost an eternity now? Let's hope the new kid of the block strikes it big.

Actually, I'm not surprised by the pricing for I thought if they would price any higher siting brand name and german build quality they might lose it. So, a good start on that front. But I'll be slightly skeptical on the A.S.S though. And like some of you have mentioned, a 8 lakh rupee (base model)on road sedan with these kind of specs is something which not many manufacturers offered a while ago.

For me, as a customer, this is a gala time if one is considering an upgrade to a compact Sedan. There's a new Fiesta coming up, T-jet Linea and now the Vento.

awesome pricing !! However, would be interesting to see the features offered a compared to competition. It really wont make sense for costumers to have a box with almost no features at that price for a sedan. Common VW give us ABS as a standard on the trendline :-)

I think we should wait for atleast the test drive before writing obituaries for the City. As GTO notes, the SX4, Verna and Linea have been available in this price for long and have not done anything to dislodge the dominance of the City.

If I go through the feature list, there is nothing exciting when compared to SX4 or Linea in terms of features. Volkswagen is also not known for delivering cars faster. It will all come together when it comes to sales figures. So let us wait and watch.

Glad the prices are very competitive.

GTO, I'd be curious to know about the music system quality & usb/aux support. Polo is very disappointing here.

Thanks
