Rahul,

Apart from my car and wolf's car being ohc vtec's, there is nothing else in my car which is similar to wolf's car.

Wolf's car is a league apart, it would take me sometime to get there. If I were similarly specd to his, do you think he could beat me by close to 6-7 car lengths in a quat mile?

Cheers
Shrey

Guys please don't go out of topic, let all the cars do the talking on the track, now lets just concentrate on getting the Pay 'nd Practice session going. All of you kind of know each ohters build why do you want to bring it out on the open forum if the owner does not wan to talk about it.
so what's the updated list as of now.

For what car are looking at, we could custom fabricate a mount, or even easier get a co-passenger with anyou and give him/her the cam as you go around track.

I am sure you know you can have such differences with two similar spec'd cars as a lot of things can go wrong in a 1/4 mile. Tires, suspension, bad launch etc etc. Anyways thats a topic for another thread.

I doubt builds can be kept a secret these days and I anyways cant understand the funda of keeping it all hush hush. It doesn't take hard to figure out after seeing the car run or a peak under the hood. Besides these days, some of best builds in the country are showcasing a lot of details in magazines too.

Wondering if the mounting screw from a tripod be temporarily plastered to the dashboard. The ikon dashboard is probably the worst place to find a flat plane.

Why dash? Mount it on the rear parcel tray,..that way you can get to see your driving too along with speedo shot.

I think instead of going together, we can all leave at our own convenience in small groups.

A friend of ours, plans to take his R1 on track for the first time. So we (3 OHCs and a Swift) might leave on 5th morning, at around 5am and try and make it there by atleast 9. Moreover, our highway cruising speeds are going to be around 80-110kmph. So anyone looking for a slow relaxed drive, can join us with their cars.

PS : We will be taking the Hosur express highway.

I doubt you will get a clear video from the rear parcel tray.

I think its best you do that. Waiting for everyone will mean more and more delays. And at that cruising speed I am sure it will take you more than 4hrs. Just did the same trip on the swift 4 days back.

Under construction. I have recently been upto Mulbagal, I would say not worth it going that way with the 4-laning going on. Stick to the GQ.

Guys It will be easier this way:
option 1.
Cars meeting and leaving from Dakshin Honda. Vikram since you have taken all the trouble you decide the time. All are welcome to come here.
option 2
We meet at MMSC at a stipulated time. It is not compulsary all have to go together.

So every one has a choice of driving down together or meeting at the venue.

ps. we would be taking the Krishnagiri route

I think meeting at the venue makes more sense as different people would like to reach there at different times.

My plan is to leave Bangalore by 7:30 - 8:00 am and to reach Sriperumbudur by 12:00 - 12:30 pm. Have lunch immediately after reaching and then hit the track by 1:30. Any body else who wants to follow this plan are most welcome to join us. The people who will be joining in with me are most likely going to be Iceman91, V1p3r, Bhairav, Psycho, Vasu & P180V1.

The current list

From Bangalore
1. vikram_d - Swift
2. reddream - ?
3. Khan_Sultan - Palio 1.6 S10
4. brraj - Elantra crdi (Spectator)
5. Binz-?
6. Rajiv + Seirra (binz's friends)-Swift
7. Siddartha - Skoda RS?
8. Team Race Dynamics - SX4 & Swift D
9. Shazikon - Ikon or Swift
10. Psycho - Mercedes W124
11. Iceman91 - Baleno
12. Mclaren1885 - Baleno or Swift D
13. Bhairav + 1 - Spectator
14. Vip3r - ?
15. P180V1

From Chennai
1. Nitrous - Short Ratio Mistress
2. yzfrj - Zen
3. Sathee46 - Fiesta 1.6s
4. Petrol_head - ?
5. Madan80 - Palio

Edit: We will be meeting up at our usual meeting point i.e Dakshin Honda on Hosur Road.

Amit, I always prefer leaving together. But from what I have seen over the years, someone or the other always tends to come really late and this kind of irks most people who make it to the venue on time really early in the morning. We have had instances where we had to wait for 2hrs.

Tip: Keep uncle awake all night and don't let him go home. Because he won't wake up on time for track days .
