I agree. Get the service done atleast 2-3 days before the track day.

Thanks vikram_d, nitrous.
As you guys suggested will get a brake checkup/overhauling done.

reignofchaos mentioned "steelgrip tape to tape the headlights/taillights."

Why do we need to do that ?
Prevent littering the track with broken glass/plastic in case of a knock ?
I fail to get the logic what difference taped lights will make.
I might be wrong.

Is there any section at MMSC which does't have tarmac ?
(I mean smooth gravel)

Nothing major except for spongy brakes and wife asking what I'm upto
Bleed the brakes and check if hoses are shot

Looks like you answered your own question.

If I am getting back to bikes (I am banned from riding by folks at home, the last time I decided to ride, it was a Ducati 749 after 06 SR). I would prefer it to have an engine that churns out numbers to the north of 80 horses atleast. A good enough a reason to kill myself, not otherwise .

That said, I would love to see your Jawa on track. Let me see if I can get some of my other biker friends to join in.

I was at this place for a trackday about 2 years back, because a whole bunch of my bullet crazies got a Bullet Class organised as part of a regular race-fest. SBK's participated too, and for some reason, a Comet got into the class (I think all cylinders north of one got into one class). And believe me, I think the guy on the Comet had the most fun because of the ability to manage the bike and throw her around the corners in that track. Though he was pretty much the last at every corner. The SBK's must have been so terrified of throwing a million rupee gizmo over the gravel. I would ride a SBK very very gingerly around. One spill, and you're history (either financially or physically).

That said, though I ride a Jawa, heck I am gonna be as terrified as the SBK's. NOTHING is available for this bike anymore! Jeez.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Once we had a friend who has a forgetful memory of sorts take his RX135 with chambers onto track. In the slower section he would be ahead of all the SBK's and would lose out to them only on the main straight. Once you cross C4 you would see him pass SBK's as if they were on some jolly ride. This continued until one day, he went really quick into C2, blanked out, ran off the track for quite a long distance, cleared a 20ft gutter and landed up on the other side with a broken toe. It took the marshalls a good 30 mins to figure out where he had gone off. Till day no one else has managed to do what he did. I'll try to get the legend to get his RTR this time around .

I would never ride a SBK or any bike for that matter gingerly on track. My folks are more worried about the physical damage I could cause to myself than the damage to the bike. Problem for me is both don't matter as long as I get those few seconds thrill. Which is why I am bound to kill myself sooner or later on bikes.

The cost is Rs.1000 per car for the full session. There will not be any rentals available. It will be our personal cars only. The session timing is from 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Edit: Tyres will not be available for hire.

I will also be at the track... I may not get my car on to the track though (Hope that I will NOT yield to my temptation), esp. 'cause my tyres are new and don't want to ruin it within 1K of running! I remember reading a post from previous reports saying that we may be able to hire them? Any such option available this time around?
