That's good to know! No such "conveniences" out here

The stains will go off with enough elbowgrease, if you attack them right on time. Put off cleaning the stains, and you're in for a long seat-cleaning session. I had a grease stain on the back of the driver's seat that near refused to go off, even after repeated cleaning with everything from baby-shampoo to surf. It did fade, but it was still visible if you looked closely. I'd left the stain without cleaning it initially -- it took me about a month before I got to cleaning the seats that time :(

Just an update, the roughess on the front door reappeared again even after getting it repainted. Concorde in Chennai has said they will replace the door again and repaint it so hoping it works out this time.

This paint issue seems common with all the palios that have had doors replaced

Based on your ownership experience would you recommend the car to anyone.
What do you feel are the negatives and pluses of the car.
Thanks in advance.

The car seems to have some minor niggles that seem to crop up now and then and are pretty common to the 1.6 engine. If you have easy access to a service center go for it , or if the car is something really critical look elsewhere.

The paint quality is really poor with the recent Stile models. I myself having a Formula Red color and it happily shows you even the nail scratches. You can easily see the whitish part behind the red color for a minute scratches too...

I've a good long scratch on the doors and also above the front tyre part but i'm skeptical to go for a touch up or repaint! What do you say..

The only issue I (along with a few others) faced was with a door that was replaced. Other than that the paint work seems to be pretty ok. I have done a few touch up jobs at Concorde here and so far they have done a good job (though i'm not too picky). With black its easy to match paint, not sure about red. Talk to the service advisor and see what they say. If they can touch it up, go ahead and try but if they ask you to repaint the entire panel and they dont get the shade right its going to look odd

the nail scratches are probably swirl marks ? try polish

4th Service Completed

Completed 20k and gave in the car for its 4th service.

Complaints I had before giving the car in was brake fluid oil leaking and occasional starting issues. I had also asked them to check the brake pads since when I had a look at them last they looked a bit thin especially the left hand side brake pads.

I was also facing the issue of surface corrosion of sorts ( I have some pics posted on the previous page on this thread) on the front right door which I had gotten replaced more than a year ago. It kept reappearing and this is the 3rd time I have had the door repainted under warranty. They have promised to replace the door if this reoccurs.

Finally got the car back today and some of work that was done,

1. brake pads replaced
2. front left and right lower arms replaced
3. there was a leak in the brake lines so that was fixed
4. throttle body cleaned

and of course the paint work

The bill came to 14k excluding the door painting work which was done free and not included in the bill. My heart skipped a beat hearing 14k but was informed that the suspension work was done under the extended warranty so that charge was waived bringing the final bill to 7.6k

Another big shock was to see the bill mention that they had filled diesel oil but the advisor said that they made a mistake entering the product code and that they had filled petrol oil and not to worry and they can easily tell the difference based on the viscosity

Tata website does list mobil oil for both petrol and diesel so I hope its only a billing mistake Tata Motors Customer Care :: Recommended Products

The suspension work has made a huge difference in the ride and car doesnt bottom out like it used to previously

I 've attached a scan of the bill with a complete break up of costs in case anyone is interested
