Gr8! Are you the first on T-BHP with 20K completed on Stile 1.6?

Did u had any clutch noise ever in this period?

How has the built held up in this period. Talking about reliability of the car.

Any breakdowns and service woes after?

I've just completed 5k on my 1.6 Stile. I'm wondering how you must be feeling at 20k+

OT: I've been a regular follower of your thread even before buying my Palio!

Cheers~

No clutch noises so far touch wood, regarding the build quality the fit of the plastics in some places isnt good so I get rattles. Im not able to trace where its coming from either. the rattles reduced a lot with the new suspension which is finally soaking up the bumps from the roads.

No breakdowns yet. Was having issues where the car would crank but not turn over before third service but they cleaned the plugs and checked for loose connections and its been ok since then.

whatever the occasional niggles it has, the responsiveness of the engine is fantastic and with all the fun you forget about the niggles

@ms

FE is around 10 +/- 1kmpl most of the time

Was facing an issue with the car where it randomly doesnt start. The car would keep cranking but not start. this would happen randomly once in 2 weeks or so with no fixed pattern mostly during afternoons. Sometimes it would start after half an hour of staying idle.

Got the battery checked and there are no issues. The other day it took a turn to the worse and refused to start at all. A technician from Concorde came and then checked fuses to no avail. Finally he gave a tap on the spark plug after which it started.

Gave it in this weekend to Concorde to get it checked and they said they cannot find anything wrong with the car and its starting fine no matter how many times they test. They checked the spark plugs and cables and said everything is in perfect condition.

At a loss here so suggestions would be welcome.

It has happened once when the car was all day in the shade as well but on quite a few occasions it was in direct sunlight for 3-4 hours but started perfectly. Got my car back today after getting sparks cleaned, lets see if it happens again

Guys, check your alternators. Having owned the beast for 1.5+ years, guess its a pretty common problem.

I guess the alternator is fine since the battery had full charge. It did fail a year or so ago though and was replaced under warranty

My bro in law had similar problem with his Palio. It would start one day and it wouldnt on another occasion. There was a random pattern. We were afraid in traffic to turn off for fear it would not start. When we went to garage it would start with no problem. When we used to come at home it wouldnt start. Was difficult to convince garage mechanics. One day car didnt start so called up the dealer and he sent the mechanic. Fortunately in his presence the car did not start and the problem was found to be in one of the injectors, he cleaned or repaired it and after that theres no issue for past one year now.

where is it fitted? behind the RHS head lamp cluster?

the OE location is very hard to reach - behind the front LHS fog lamp / bumper.
