Please dont go for Hyundai fog lamps. I got them installed and they dont help much wrt visibility. BTW are we saying here that Philips Xtreme are not all that good?

I am surprised to learn that from you. I first read from your review about using the fog lamps to increase the visibility and have always wanted to do it. But one thing or the other (most of the times, stock limit with Hyundai ) stopped me from doing it.

Many on this forum mentioned that they are quiet happy with them. But personally I didnt like it much.

When I just got them installed, definitely it felt better - especially the floor right in front of your bumber gets lit up. However wrt the long distance visibility - they dont help at all. Thats my point when I say - I would not recommend them. Its better to go for main headlight upgrade.

Changed the headlamps to 100/90. My car warranty was getting expired in June anyway, so decided to take the plunge and fit the 100/90 bulbs with relay. Got it done at a service center at Electronics City for 1000/-.

Huge improvement in lighting now. Did a couple of short night drives in the city and the difference is remarkable. I will be taking it out on a highway drive coming weekend and hope to have a much better highway drive experience this time!

Yes, that's the one. SV Motors or something like that. My friends and I have got a few things done from there. They do a good job and are reasonable in their rates as well.

Ok. I got it installed from them too 2 years back. While I didn't face any problem with the relay kit, its the bulbs that acted up a lot. Had to change the bulbs couple of times with less than 3 months of time. Finally they installed Fossler bulbs which lasted longer for more than 6 months. They said, that I have to be careful while dipping the lights from low beam to high beam and vice-versa, never turn on the car with the lights on in high beam mode, etc.. and failing to do so will result in the bulbs fuse going off. While I dont buy their logic completely, some members on the forum mentioned about this. I finally got the entire kit replaced with Hella make 4 months back and its great so far.

Yeah, it is true that the bulb goes off if you start the car in high-beam. My sister just got her car's lights fused after doing exactly the same thing. I hope to take care while operating it, and let me see how long it lasts.

How much did the Hella setup cost you? And is it 100/90W again?

The whole set including the 100/90W bulbs cost me Rs.1300. They had to cut a bit of the place where the cap at the rear end of the head lamp had to be fixed. This is because the hella relay kit wires are little bulky than compared to the previous one and the cap was not just fitting in with it.

I read else where that with such cuts, there is a risk of water entering inside due to this. Any body else who upgrade the head lamps on i10 faced this problem?

That is a definite possibility. May be we should seal the gaps using some tapes after the fitment.

I have an i10 magna(kappa engine) that has done 47K on the ODO. For the past 5K kms or so the clutch has gotten hard. However, I don't see any significant loss in pick up. And all the gear changes are butter smooth as well.

Hyundai service says I need to change the clutch. I want to hear from the experts here before I go do that? Do they sound genuine or is this just another money making gimmick?

I am finding the same problem in my i10 Sportz 2009 model. ODO reading is 48k and the clutch is hard to press and makes some kind of weird sound while doing so. Hyundai service person has suggested to change the clutch, but I am delaying it as it bears a significant cost.

For me also it is same. Has anyone changed the clutch for this reason? Any cost break up to help others?

It seems there was a clutch issue in some batches of i10 model which the company never owned. As per my experience with the i10, I had to get clutch cable changed multiple times and went for a complete clutch overhaul at somewhere around 50-60 K mark on the odo. It was about 3 years back so don;t remember the exact break-up but was somewhere around 5000 Rs.. The pressure plate was changed.

This was as per the advice given by the H.A.S.S. Though, even after the overhaul the issue never fully disappeared. The clutch was soft for a few days but again increasingly became hard with time. I used to feel the real difference whenever I would swap my ride with dad's Santro. I guess that's the way i10's clutch has been engineered. I learnt to live with it -- the daily commute in the jams was a strain on the left knee.

You can read my ownership experience at the beginning of this thread. One workaround that I discovered was to routinely (depending on what traffic conditions you drive) get your clutch cable adjusted at a local roadside mechanic. I would suggest every 5000 KM or at every service just ask the fellow to tighten the cable. The reason I say local mech. is because H.A.S.S. would never admit that the clutch is hard or they might try to fleece by recommending expensive overhaul.

Also, one weird characteristic of my i10 was that the clutch would feel particularly hard during monsoons. Not sure if moisture had any role to play.
