VW conducted 3rd party survey

I just came to know that VW conducted a 3rd party independent survey of customer's experience with their dealers in Dec '10. Is anyone else aware of the same?
There has been some dealership cancellations that have happened recently. Is that an outcome of this survey?

A friend of mine who got his Polo 1.2 Petrol delivered in Nov was visited by a surveyer (some time late Dec) who identified himself to be a 3rd party surveyer employed by VW. The survey questions where mostly related to dealership experience and he also mentioned that VW is in the process of evaluating dealer performance across India in an effort to improve customer experience.

Any views on this please?

re: VW Polo 1.6 MPI - Ownership Report EDIT: 1,30,000 km up!

I had a surveyor visit me. It was mostly about the dealership experience, which in my case has been OK. Niggles with the car remain, but that's a manufacturer issue.

That is a good step in the right direction. Now a days, most companies do it. I have not experienced any thing similar. But I have noticed that their is a change in attitude overall.

I was contacted by such a surveyer about 10 days back and all questions were around dealership experiences at the time of booking, delivery and service. I raised concerns about lack of clarity on delivery date until 10 days before and also about the lack of accessories.

These surveyors are not employed by the company, but rather 3rd party companies like JD Power. Shortly after I bought my Verna, I was contacted by 2 separate people both claiming to be conducting after sales survey for Hyundai. A little probing revealed that they were from 2 reputed companies - JD Power and AC Nielsen. They borrow the sales database from dealers and contact all new car buyers.

That sounds like a major privacy intrusion to me! I don't like my data being "borrowed"

But who is commissioning these surveys? If it is the manufacturer, then I suppose that is ok.

JD Power rates complete customer experience where satisfaction with regards to product quality is prime concern. That too of vehicles withn some narrow band of manufacturing order. Wheras the reported surveys are focusing on dealer experience. So I doubt these are JD Power survey.

Oh don't worry, I call him Kolkata tbhp's resident stalker for a reason!

Btw, I saw your car yesterday morning as well, coming from Rajarhat side in front of Wipro. Gotta meet up sometime. Didn't speak since Vizag.

COngrats mate! 17" tyres will be too much for the Polo. It will make the ride very harsh.

Will it ?

My Swift [the one I sold] had OZ 17's and I loved the ride.
1st with Dunlop SP Sport Max & then with Yoko S Drive.

I like the look / feel & ride of the 17.
Hence I need to source the 17's with 100 PCD 5 hole.

Please do help / where I can get it from...

re: VW Polo 1.6 MPI - Ownership Report EDIT: 1,30,000 km up!

As it is with the stock wheel/tyre the ride on Polo is not soft. Increasing the wheel size to 17" would definitely bring in a lot more road undulations into the cabin. However it all depends on your dirving conditions. If your regular routes are on broken termac, a wheel upsize is not recommended. But on smooth roads 17"s will definitely increase your cornering abilities.
Cheers and enjoy your new car.
