| ![]() Okay, threw in a couple of more options for my next buy. So now it's Audi A4 177bhp top end vs BMW 320d Sport Line vs Audi A6 2.0TDi 177bhp vs BMW X3 sDrive 20d vs BMW 520d vs Volvo S60. Which one would you pick if your only preferences were performance and looks. Comfort is secondary. PS: Was thinking of a N20 Bimmer but dropped the idea of petrol lately coz will probably save and wait for the new Z4 to come in and fetch that by Diwali 2014. ![]() |

S60 is a smart looking car, but I believe it’s due for a facelift soon.

Yes the S60 is due for a facelift + the AWD is discontinued so it's kinda at the bottom of my list. The interiors too is a bit oldish.

| ![]() Hi! I inquired about the xDrive20d. I got 3.75L + the corporate discount of 50,000 (if give the RCs of 2 more BMWs registered in the same name). |

Audi A4 and A6 177ps: Its still a FWD and CVT. Your priority, as I have understood, is FTD where these cars fail miserably. Quattro from Audi is a complete different game altogether. If you go for A6 3.0 TDI Quattro then I would recommend it for consideration. 520d: Why you need to consider a bigger car when a smaller car with better power/weight ratio is available? People with requirement of commuting with whole family look in to such options. You want fun ![]() X3: Have driven it and the X5 on autobahn and let me tell you, it's no fun. This car is for people who want luxury without the discomfort of low seating of sedans. It could be a option in India if you don't want to worry about the excellent roads that we have here. S60: Why you want to spend so much on a Volvo? Only because they don't manufacture/assemble in India? But that's their fault. 320d Sport line: Buy it! Just my two cents. Happy shopping.

| ![]() AdiSinghV12, You don't have to take our words for it, just get behind the wheel of all the cars that you have listed out, the exhilaration that the 320d gives you surpasses everything else. The 520d is tad bit too heavy for the engine that serves it. I have not TD the new A4 but purely on looks, it gets trashed by the bimmer. The other cars, I don't feel require to be discussed. |

| ![]() Have finally decided that it's gonna be a 3-Series. Nothing else felt competitive in terms of looks (of course, my personal opinion) and performance. Though I have decided that it's gonna be the F30, now I'm confused between the '320d Sport Line with the Performance Power Kit from the day 01 + other mods that I have planned', and the 328i with some minor cosmetic upgrades. The concern with the 328i is that I won't be able to fill 97 RON regularly as the car would be making long journeys as well so to avoid facing occasional disappointments, I'd regularly fill it with 89 RON if it's the 328i. Now the thing is, the 320d with normal diesel is tested by me and it certainly DOES 0-100 in around 7.5 secs which after the performance kit should go to around 7.0, the 328i claims to hit the mark in 6.1 secs according to the official BMW India brochure in which supposedly the tests were carried out with the use of 98 RON. Though I haven't driven the 328i I feel that the difference won't be missed much in regular city driving if the 328i is used with 89 RON (I certainly agree that the 328i would any day be a better performer than the 320d after the 150 mark but in the city 0-100, 0-120 is what matters). What to do ? I won't be selling the car anytime soon and I already have a convertible planned for late 2014 (this F30 would still be there) Last edited by AdiSinghV12 : 23rd September 2013 at 00:20. |

| ![]() The 328i accepts normal petrol which is 91 RON in most cities now. 89 is a thing of the past. There is simply no comparison between the 328i and 320d on performance. The 328i just goes like a scalded cat, that too on normal petrol. So if decent normal petrol is available wherever you intend on your long journeys, it should not be a problem. Also 50-60L x 12 km/l = 500-700 km range for long distance. Though diesel should better that by 25% or so. Plus it is quite silent (a bit of clatter though in idle), in fact most BMW forums lament lack of engine sound. I found the 320d very noisy actually on my test drives. Also there is stuff on the 328i that they do not give on any 320d. Once you test drive a 328i (I am quite sure you will be able to in Delhi) you will forget the 320d. It is actually in city driving that you will appreciate the blazing fast performance of the 328i (even though it has a higher top speed too). It will run rings around 320d in any situation. But probably a diesel for long drives and re-sale value may be better than just the 328i performance. All I am trying to say here is that do not make a decision without a test drive of the 328i. Karan and others who actually own 328i may help you further. Last edited by sandeep108 : 23rd September 2013 at 11:20. |
