the kelvin rating (K) indicates the color and not the brightness.

But nonetheless, the concept excites me and i'm going to try getting this done over the weekend. But i'll use the sun-film funda only on the tail lamps and the indicator part of the headlight (which is orange). As I have the Type I OHC, getting this done on the headlight is going to be pretty simple as the design mostly involves only straight lines.

Today, I noticed a coupla ppl amused as they saw me standing 5 ft. away from my ride - as I was absorbed in staring at the headlamps and then the tail-lamps (picturing them blackened) .. little do they know .. ignorant fools .. wait till they check out my ride next week

been dere done that bro........
and my suggestion, keep the headlights and the tailights on for a while so that the glass is hot enough for the tints to stick on properly.

I can already picture the scene. Now, after you get the job done, they'll start thinking if you're really nut or what!!!

Where exactly do you get this masking paper in Bangalore?

Hey,

Either go to a store that stocks painting materials or a stationery shop.

they're the same tints that are pasted on your side windows.and yes, they are pasted on the outside.
they dont peel off,in fact they stick on better if the surface they are pasted on is hot.thats the reason why a sunfilm installer will always insist you get the tints pasted on a sunny day.
and anyways it wont cost you more than 100 bucks for the HL + TL.

Tremendous heat produced will be absorbed by the headlamp lens and will easily tend to crack/break.

naah.

these lenses are EXTREMELY hard. I know, trust me. Just the other day i was trying to shatter my OHC headlamp using an iron rod .. it didn't give way until i finally had to quit trying.

Just going off-topic. Why the need arose for shattering the OHC headlamp? Secondly howsoever hard the lens maybe, I've observed and also experienced that if you are involved in a collision, the first thing to give way are the headlamps. They get shattered. What's your take on that?
